Discussion "Star Trek Academy series" Spoiler ALERTi - Ava Baldwin - 01-23-2026 I've started watching "Star Trek Academy", and I wonder what others think of it? (I'm also watching ST Enerprise through again) STA -1st episode, not sure how to describe my reaction/feelings or what it was about that episode, but I wasn't impressed. 2nd Episode is a bit more interesting. I'm going to give it a season before I make up my mind. But at the moment, it's a bit on the soapy side of things. I'm going to try to post comments on each episode as they come out. YES -my opinion - by all means, anyone can disagree. Please be respectful and polite in the discussion. So stay turned for episode 1, 2 and 3 comments coming soon. What are your thoughts so far? RE: Discussion "Star Trek Academy series" Spoiler ALERTi - A’kilees - 01-24-2026 Started watching it the other day cause I was curious (and wanted to take a break going through VOY) and after the first three episodes honestly I really enjoyed it. Sure it's not going to be typical Star Trek but will still have it's formulaic "mission of the week" primarily at the academy rather than in space but I'm assuming that there will be more space exploration and perhaps some returning to locations featured in the past series now that so long of time has passed. I do however like to look out for all the easter eggs that are in each episode whether it be in dialogue, locations or background characters. Still needs more character development from the main cast but it's still relatively early and I generally don't have any issues with anybody presented so far though it's got all the typical "college character tropes" but in the future. Visually it looks great. The sets look great, the sfx is great and has a lot of fun references, the cgi is well done, makeup and prostetics are very impressive. Overall no complaints. Looking forward to watching the remainder of the season. |
