RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-01-2026

==Evies quarters - Timeline after last mission==

Evie was nervous for the first time in a long time, she didn't have much for gentlemen callers in the past now she was in the position of being in a relationship. She had that rebound period that thankfully only included one person, he was also on the ship but nothing was weird about it.

It didn't take too long for her to get things ready, she had her knives out ready to use. Various cutting boards all with the colors that meant what they were meant for, red for red meat, Green for Vegetables, and White for Seafood. This time Evie was dressed better than last time, a simple skirt and tank top.

Again like last time Evie lost track of time while making the preparations, soft music in the background and drinks that wont get them light up in the first five minutes. At times like this Evie enjoyed being Barefoot, sometimes she did hate the confinement of shoes. There was a part of her that wanted to start the cooking, but she promised Gath it would be both of them cooking together. She smiled at the prospect of doing this, out of all the ways to know a person best this was in the top five.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-01-2026

== Evie's Quarters - the "in-between" time zone ==

Gath rang the chime and when she opened the door, he was holding a bag and a travel case of some kind. He was dressed in comfortable tan pants and a simple, white, short sleeve t-shirt. The shirt was snug, but the soft cotton fabric was very flexible.

"Good evening. I wasn't sure what you had for preparation, so I brought some things, just in case. So few people prepare food using real heat anymore." He stepped inside and continued, "I brought a sweet white wine for with the seafood as well as a kind of thick flatbread I became fond of that I think you'll like. It makes a great appetizer as well as part of the main meal. It has a little bit of goat cheese that is melted on it that adds a mildly salty taste and is quite appealing."

He set things down and smiled again as he turned to look at her. He took his time to look at her from head to toe, not rushing. His smile widened when he realized she was barefoot.

"That's the kind of sight that keeps a man home at night."

Gath then wrapped his arms around her and drew her close for a soft hug and kissed her on the cheek. "The case has a very compact but powerful kind of hot plate for field use. It also has a couple of knives, a pan and some cooking utensils. There's even a folding grill that can be used over it, if you're into that approach and I have used it with some small wood chips to create a smoked flavor a few times, but it's tricky to use and not set off the fire detection system on the ship, so maybe we hold off on that feature this time."

Slipping his own shoes off and going barefoot, he said, "I love the bare feet. I'm a bit of a naturalist myself." He rubbed his hands together and looked around, "So, what's the plan?"

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-02-2026

"That's the kind of sight that keeps a man home at night." Evie smiled thinking what he would say if he were to walk in with her dressed the way she enjoys while relaxing, her feet wouldn't be the only thing bare.

Gath then wrapped his arms around her and drew her close for a soft hug and kissed her on the cheek. "The case has a very compact but powerful kind of hot plate for field use. It also has a couple of knives, a pan and some cooking utensils. There's even a folding grill that can be used over it, if you're into that approach and I have used it with some small wood chips to create a smoked flavor a few times, but it's tricky to use and not set off the fire detection system on the ship, so maybe we hold off on that feature this time." Evie enjoyed being in his arms it provided a level of comfort that she hasn't felt for a while, in truth Goat Cheese was her favorite kind, salads with goat cheese dried cranberries, spinach, shaved almonds.

Slipping his own shoes off and going barefoot, he said, "I love the bare feet. I'm a bit of a naturalist myself." He rubbed his hands together and looked around, "So, what's the plan?"

Evie had the preparation area ready for use, the vegetables were always the longest to prepare because they didn't exactly need a butcher for the meat, the size of every cut had to be the same or the cook times would vary, while some would be cooked perfectly others would be over and under cooked. Evie made some room for his equipment so they could be close at all times. she set up his hotplate, putting a big cast iron frying pan on it, it took time to heat it up properly. "How about we start with the flatbread, what I am going to need is the olive oil." Evie didn't put much thought into getting up on the counter to get the Olive Oil, she kept it up high because it wasn't used very often. She placed it down not to far from her foot, then took out a few other spices that she didn't use very often. These spices were more for pastas than flat breads, it just added a bit of flavor.

The idea was to put the flatbread on the cast iron for a bit of crispness, add the olive oil and spices before placing it on the cast iron frying pan. Once this is achieved they could place the goat cheese on this flatbread to complete the experience, the combination would be perfect. Just then Evie was about to get down on her own but stopped.

"How about a hand down?" She waited for Gath to give her a hand down, it created a small wardrobe malfunction but it didn't bother Evie at all. She simply made the corrections and carried on like nothing happened, there was a small detail that she missed in the back. "Computer deactivate fire suppression systems in these quarters for thirty minutes." She knew the system couldn't be shut down for much longer. "How about you set up this Oven we need to preheat this properly for the fullest effect, I will pour some wine." Sometimes when Evie wanted to unwind she would get a glass of wine or two, Evie opened the wine with a bit of a struggle but finally got it open. She poured the glasses handing one to Gath. "What do you think? Would the smoke flavor go good with this?" She was asking about the flat bread.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-02-2026

Gath did his best to follow her lead, since this was her kitchen. "Yes, a cast iron with a lid will work perfect for warming up the bread and melting the cheese. It is just a tiny bit under right now, so that it could be heated up properly without making it too tough. This is working out wonderfully."

He smiled at her climbing up onto the counter to reach the top shelf of her storage. Her short skirt was rather sassy and when he helped her down, she moved just as he went to do so, causing a slight slipping of her garment that gave him an unexpected glance that reminded him of being in her office earlier. He deliberately said nothing about it, but grinned and set her on the ground. She quickly tugged her garment into place, also not mentioning it. When she missed a spot, he gently reached over and smoothed it over with his hand and commented, "Nice skirt."

He almost took the wine bottle from her out of reflex, but stopped himself. He didn't want to send the wrong message. He didn't want to presume that she would want him to do it for her. Evie was an independent sort of woman and he respected her self sufficient nature. He gladly accepted the glass she offered him.

"Well, the bread was originally cooked this far in a wood burning brick oven, so it will have hints of the wood already. The smoking effect might be something you would use for the meat, depending on how you wish to make it. How are you wanting to prepare it? Some fish is good cooked directly on a wood plank, while others are best grilled over an open fire or the likes. When baked, you can add a tiny bit of smoldering chip to add flavor. It greatly depends on the type of seafood and what the fat and oil content is to it in the first place. There are so many types of seafood, what are we having tonight?"

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-04-2026

Feeling the correction in her skirt followed by a quick compliment, Evie wasn't the least bit embarrassed. These things happen from time to time, plus he did enjoy the view. To answer the question Evie brought out the Salmon that was ready to be filleted, and the shrimp that was ready to be placed in a pot.

Soon she brought out the filleting knife, it was a long and slender. "Would you like to do the honors?" She was sure both were equally as good with the knife. "Careful I keep my knives pretty sharp, I also have a first aide kit available for slips." From time to time everyone cuts themselves, or even burns. As Gath looks around her quarters there were many pictures of Evie and Ava, some were in the pub where they were doing flair bar tending. There were a few pictures of them in some dance contests, there were a couple of first place wins and a few third. Every Star Fleet picture had them both in their Uniforms, Evie in Medical while Ava was in her Science Uniform.

Ones that would stand out to him that were all over the place added Keti, the poses suggested a close relationship. The most prominent picture she had was a family portrait, Mom and Dad were at the center of it. Her brothers were beside Mom and Dad while Evie and Ava were on one knee in front, the age differences could be seen in the picture. Gath would be able to spot Evie in front of her dad, it really did show they were a close family. In the background there was the family coat of arms, it was over her fathers right. On both sides were two lions, In the middle were two women back to back one dressed in white, while the other was in all black. The women in white was holding the olive branch of peace, the other a sword.

"I believe that with Salmon its best to to place it on the slab of wood." For some reason Evie was forgetting the original plan and was working on another. Evie really enjoyed times like this, next time there is something high Gath can get it. "Would you like to pour us some wine, there is something I am forgetting." She was forgetting something, if it was important enough Evie would remember.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-04-2026

Evie held out the knife and asked, "Would you like to do the honors?"

Gath chuckled and replied, "Most certainly. I grew up with a knife in my hand."

"Careful I keep my knives pretty sharp, I also have a first aid kit available for slips."

Gath gave a small moan of dislike, "A dull knife is dangerous to the user. I keep my blades very sharp. You're right though, the slightest lapse in attention and you can easily cut yourself. With a blade that is properly sharpened, you'll sometimes not even feel the cut."

He lay the fish on his work space and expertly cut the fillets. He worked very efficiently and then set the meat aside, cleaning up after himself and cleaning the knife.

When she suggested the wood for the salmon, he nodded, "Yes, that will give it a nice flavor. You're full of surprises. Not many people know to use that trick for preparing it. Once, during a survival exercise, I had the pleasure of discovering a kind of wood that grew in the desert we were in. It was called Mesquite. The resin within the wood not only helps preserve food, but has a very unique taste to it. It was by pure luck that some was mixed in with the wood I had gathered for a cooking fire."

Evie then asked him to pour some wine, which he did. She followed up by saying she was forgetting something, so he asked, "Are these the sides you wanted? Was there maybe something you wanted to season with, perhaps?"

Glancing around for a moment, he commented, "You have lots of images of your family. I take it that you're very close."

He hesitated for a moment, considering if he should say anything or not, but then felt it would be dishonest of him not to say anything, "I see Keti in a few of them. You were obviously close. What changed?"

Bringing it up was a calculated risk, but she would know that he saw the pictures. It would also be foolish of him to think she did not have other people in her life before he came along, so it was a simple and direct question. The trick was that some people might consider such a question a challenge of some kind that required justification. To Gath, it was simply life. People sometimes formed relationships and then either figured out they weren't a good fit or maybe they grew in different directions. It was hard to say. You would never know if you would fit if you didn't try to find out and if you didn't work out then it ran its course and there was no fault in saying so. He never understood how people could refuse to see that sometimes there wasn't fault to be assigned and the stars just hadn't aligned for them in that moment. Gath had enjoyed a number of relationships over the years. Some had been deliberately temporary, but served a purpose for both at the time. He had a few brushes with what he thought was real love, but in the end they had been too different. He pretty much gave up on Klingon women. Now life was suddenly becoming very interesting again, so he had decided to just be himself. She would either like him for who he was, or they would just remain friends and he would go back to his life of work and relative isolation. His instincts told him something though. At the very least, Evie didn't think like most of the other humans he had met...and he was drawn to that.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-04-2026

"You have lots of images of your family. I take it that you're very close."

He hesitated for a moment, considering if he should say anything or not, but then felt it would be dishonest of him not to say anything, "I see Keti in a few of them. You were obviously close. What changed?"

Evie had a laugh that was only slightly uncomfortable. "What changed was us, those were different times we were different people." There were some pictures that Evie kept private, hidden in her own quarters. "When I was accepted with my sister in the Academy it was the best thing that could have happened, it was planned for me to take a family practice. I wanted this where I could do the most good, it cost me my relationship that... Well I hope he is happy doing whatever it is.."

Evie went and got the pictures, this time they were in a lower place that made her bend down to get them. It didn't take long for Gath to realize why they were hidden, it wasn't shame they were just not appropriate to hang in the open. The pictures shown they were all very happy, Keti stood out because of his height and uncomfortable smile. Gath would be able to tell Evie was uncomfortable at first too. "Keti and I found each other because professionally we know what we wanted to do, what we wanted to gain, even what kind of Commanding Officer we might be if we get the chance.." She took a sigh.

"Personally we were a mess, being out of a relationship for the first time in years I lost control for a short while. The funny thing is he thought I was my sister sneaking out to the nearest Bar, and well." She thought about it for a second. "The next morning was interesting, he found out that I had a twin." He was confused at first.

"All of us went into it knowing it wouldn't last not because of anything bad, but Ava and I knew once he figured it out there was only one women for him." There was one picture with three women in bed, all that anyone could see were faces and bare backs and shoulders. The women in the middle was Bajoran, from how it looked it was early morning. "This was basically the end of it, Keti started to realize how he felt about Aja even how she felt about him. Considering the history between them I could defiantly understand, we just don't want to jeopardize that now he is getting married to her soon. I might not act professional at all times, but coming between the two we just cant do." There was a lot of details that Evie left out, the most important parts were there.

They did things together in the Academy days they didn't continue after, Keti knew who he wanted it was just how he was going to do it. She was very happy to learn that he did he did. In a big way Helping Kekti figure things out for himself, she also helped herself at the same time.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-05-2026

Gath chuckled at hearing that Keti didn't know they were twins, "Yes, I can imagine that made for a rather interesting moment. I certainly can't blame him though. The two of you are astoundingly similar and equally irresistible. I had a relationship for a couple of semesters with a woman that was in one of my classes. We shared some interests and had the same sense of humor, but we knew it wouldn't last, because we didn't feel the same about kids. The common ground there was that neither of us wanted them right then, so we simply enjoyed each other until life began to move on and then we parted on good terms. There was no implied promise of something more, but we were friends with an added physical element. I learned that I could enjoy someone's company, even in an intimate way without a permanent commitment, but the important thing was communication. The degree of exclusivity becomes an important detail that must be agreed upon. If there is any misunderstanding there, things can fall apart quickly and end poorly."

He moved closer to her, "For example, I'm not so territorial that it would upset me for you to be talking with anyone, even flirtatiously, but if we're in a relationship, certain things like kissing or deliberate kinds of physical contact would become problematic for me and that goes both ways. I hate the territorial concept of it, because you can't own someone's heart. There is a respectful aspect to it though that accompanies the idea that their heart was given to you, so you must handle it carefully or you risk damaging it, and with it the relationship. My days of meaningless relationships are behind me. If I'm in a relationship, I like it to mean something."

Handing her back the images, he shrugged, "The result of that shift in my expectations meant I had to be content with some women just being my friends. I guess I became a little too serious for them at that point. I've been fine with that though."

His playful grin appeared again, "So, where do you stand on the topic of kids and family? Family is obviously very important to you, but what is it that you imagine for your future?"

He punctuated the moment with a sip of wine and waited for her answer.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-05-2026

It was all perfectly understandable about the forms of physical contact, Evie was going to need to monitor this. Not that she did that a lot, just with some people that got narrowed down to the one. "I will also add being mindful of how I am dressed with who around." As Gath would recall that she wasn't exactly dressed like a nun, she was comfortable while writing out her report.

"If you met me back when I was going through my phase, you could describe me in the same manner." She did try it for a little while, it was enjoyable for a bit until she started to not like herself. "I just wanted friends and a little fun, then fun became something I didn't like. Yes we had some fun with Keti that wasn't exactly traditional, but I didn't hate myself in the morning." Some people spend a lifetime doing that, did they hate themselves too?

Sometimes Evie couldn't help to think what if Ava wasn't a Science Cadet? What if Keti didn't have a crush on her? The first meeting at the bar really put things in motion, for both of them. Like she said earlier they were both different people back then, he really helped her respect herself again. If Gath had been a Cadet back then, he would have done the same thing. They would have had a lot of fun in the process, and in the morning she would still feel valued.

"Yeah family is important to me." Evie closed her eyes for a second with a nice smile that developed. "My Dad really wants us to have children, we are the only two who don't have them. Not as many as Mom and dad but they didn't want this many either, we were a big surprise for everyone." She had a lot of plans for the future, all of them can be adapted for variable change that's what life really was anyway.

"For the future I see myself here, I am not exactly sure for how long but its in the years. One day I do want to go back to Earth and teach, be a Academy instructor. The Desk job would afford me the ability to do what I can't right now, stay in one place. I would probably end up back in Ireland being close to the parents, my Brother would want me to work at the pub sometimes. There are several people that came just to see us do our thing, it wasn't just going and getting drinks it was an experience." Evie remembered how they would preform for the audience, it was a lot of fun sometimes messy. "For Family getting married someday, Dad would want to walk me down the isle. Mom would insist on me wearing her dress, its pretty old. Having a few kids hopefully not two sets of twins, as a twin the odds of me having a set is higher but not absolute. Then I would spend the rest of my life making my husband happy, not just in one way either." In Sickbay Evie had a lot of authority and ran it as efficiently as possible, the choices she makes at any given time could mean the difference between life and death. The thing that takes a toll on every doctor was when the patient dies, they were right there watching it happen.

There was something that Evie should bring up. "Every day no matter what is going on I am going to need to keep a strong front, but when I get home there are going to be times where I am going to fall apart. There are going to be times where I am there for a persons first breath, and their last. I know that as a Doctor there are a lot of people that can be saved, there are also people I can't." Evie really didn't want to think about the last one, in private Evie was going to fall apart, she was going to have go through the process when the opportunity was afforded. "Sometimes the biggest thing I am going to need is simply to be held, the reassurance will go a long way." Evie could only stay strong for so long before breaking down.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-05-2026

Gath nodded in understanding as she spoke. Mostly he listened and took mental notes. He waited respectfully for her to finish her thoughts before responding.

"Statistically, as you know, it is actually fairly rare for twins to have twins. There is a much higher chance of it skipping a generation. If one of your parents had been a twin, then it would have revealed the stronger genetics of it and you would indeed be more likely to then have twins." He smiled, "I don't know nearly as much as I am sure you do, but from an investigative perspective, it is good to know things about people I might be trying to track down. Twins was something that came up in my training for profiling and certain DNA evidence I might encounter."

Gath paused and his voice became softer, "When we deal with death being part of the job, we have to always consider it as a possibility. That often results in us being able to be strong on the job, because we need to be, but we're still people. When you're off duty and in the safety of your own sanctuary, that's the place you need to be able to deal with those emotions. We're both very strong people, but that doesn't mean that we don't need to be able to lean on someone now and then. In fact, it is hard to be able to lean on someone who doesn't understand the depth of your work. I'm sure you need to talk about not only the wonderful days of saving someone or helping bring a life into the world, but also the heartbreak of loss when faced with our mortality. My career has been...complicated. Everyone can understand when you need to talk about someone you lost or couldn't save. Not too many people are prepared to discuss how it feels when your job required you to deliberately take the life from someone. You can justify it with certain logic about it being for a greater good or that you had to protect yourself, but you can't get around the fact that you made the decision to go on a mission, knowing that was a possible outcome. In that context, there becomes an element of premeditation to it that makes it harder to reconcile when you're alone in the dark with your own thoughts. Oddly enough, I take some comfort from the fact that it doesn't get any easier as time goes by. I would worry about it more if it bothered me less."

He let out a huge sigh and said, "Well, that was cheerful." He chuckled, "I didn't mean to bring down the mood, but part of why we're in this room together is to explore certain things about each other. I find this conversation very important. Perhaps a small change of topic though, to lighten the mood a bit again."

He pulled out a small device that he could almost hide completely in his hand, held it up and said, "This is something my father made for me long ago."

Gath pointed it away from himself and barely moved his thumb on an indentation. From the small device something extended, then unfolded and became even longer. It was a knife with a blade that was almost as long as her cooking knives.

"It has a couple of different configurations, but I like to keep it simple. My father designed and created special weapons as part of his work. One of the things I carry on my belt is something he made. When we rescued those people from that ship, I used it to cut into the hull. My favorite use of it is as a single handed kind of axe. These are the sort of things that we share in my family. They can often cut through almost anything because of what he learned as a scientist and engineer. My mother was a teacher and was very fond of history. They are both retired now, but still remain active in certain social circles. They both taught me a great deal and I hope to pass some of that on to my children someday. Not all Klingons are fighters. Not all fighters are barbarians. The big differences are about who you fight for and how you go about it. Life needs to be about more than just death or there is no point to it. Naturally, this is not very popular with some of my kin, but I'm hoping to change a few minds along the way."

He held out the knife for her to inspect, "Careful not to touch the edge of the blade. You could use it to dissect nanites and it is capable of cutting through duranium and more. It isn't powered, but the edge is...unique on a molecular level."

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-06-2026

There was a lot of wisdom in his words, they were things people knew but never really thought about. In every ones lives it didn't really matter how severe it is, or how many little things that bring a person down. In a leadership position people look to you for guidance and courage, meanwhile sometimes you are equally as clueless and scared out of your mind as them. In many situations it requires a lot of strength that your people depend on, its taxing and eventually even the strongest run out. There are also times when you require someone who really understands what you been through, even as a twin it doesn't always mean they understand. Evie is a medical Officer and Ava is a Science, both of them are going to go through setbacks that the other will never.

At some point he was going to require the same from her, usually the best kind is skin on skin. The same method that helps the bonding process with parents and a newborn, they can hear your heart beating as it gives them a sense of security. It is truly one of the most intimate experiences you can have, this really has a trinity effect. People since the dawn of time have been a physical people, medical research has concluded that physical contact helps improve both mental and physical health. This physical contact isn't just a one way street, it helps both people at the same time. It could take a minute or even a few hours, it isn't uncommon for people to do it so long one or both fall asleep.

Both of them were in a position that choices were going to have to be made, those are going to carry consequences that cost another their life. No matter how you justify the loss where one saved a hundred or more, that one life can weigh equally on you as the hundred or more. At some point that strength will fail, and the best way to recover is to go through the paces. Allow yourself to be vulnerable to another, if the person listens to understand they can draw from their own personal experiences to gain the proper perspective. Sometimes the best course of action for the person listening is just that, sometimes just listening to another is the best medicine of all. There are other times when no words of any kind are required, at these times they just need to be held reassuring them that everything is going to be alright.

Gath had a great memory to share, he was right there were people who believed the stereotypes. The Irish have one of their own, one that state one in ten doesn't drink and that one is a quitter. As Gath handed Evie the knife to examine, she held it with both hands. As Evie was examining the knife she balanced it on her finger before spinning it in palm of her hand, fingers well out of the path. From how she was handling the knife Gath could tell she was testing the balance, the distance that she had from him was also for safety.

"More often then not these are a few grams heavy in the back, this one isn't." She handed it back to him with both hands like it was received, this was a reflection of respect for the knife and person. "The craftmanship is amazing, you can tell a lot of care went into its construction." Evie had a big smile

"The Irish have their own stereotypes of being a bunch of fighting alcoholics that do nothing but drink fight and....." Evie thought about it. "Come to think of it both of us have the same stereotypes in our cultures, meanwhile there is a lot more to both." Evie had an amusing thought about their potential children. "Can you imagine our children your looks my hair and skin, a combination of our personality traits." A combination of both of them could be a handful, even if its just the one.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-06-2026

Gath grinned at her comments about the knife, "You know your weapons. I'm impressed."

When she began listing the stereotypes, his grin widened to a smile, "Yes, your people and mine seem to be more similar than one might expect. Fortunately, there are exceptions to those and when we rise above them, it is quite often in spite of some of those traits, but I think at our hearts, we're strong and independent people who take pride in being self-sufficient."

He chuckled and nodded at the comment about kids, "Yes, you have a very valid point. The hardest thing about raising children to be strong willed and independent is that they're going to test it on their parents first. They can't have a mind of their own without pushing restrictions and boundaries, sometimes to their regret. It takes a strong parent to teach them. The patience, dedication and love they put into their children is going to make all of the difference. We learn what we live. If they grow up around parents that are a team and dedicated to the loving and caring of the family, then that's what they inherit and pass on to their own when it is their turn. Sometimes the hardest thing to teach them is that it can be okay to say you don't know something, or to apologize for being wrong, but strong enough to change because of it. Good people don't happen by accident, they grow into those people because someone along the way taught them how to care enough to push through the bad things and to cherish the good ones. We're always stronger together."

Gath's smile turned devilish again as he raised his glass and said, "I think our children would be smart, strong and beautiful." He then touched his glass to hers and gave her a wink before taking a sip."

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-07-2026

The skills requited for both knife and flair Bartending were transferable skills, when Evie was getting good at one then she would get better at the other. At this point in her Career Evie didn't think she would be thinking about children, now that she had there had to be plans in place. If Evie became pregnant with his child she would be required to go on leave for a while, she would also want to take care of her child giving her priorities a shift. Naturally all parents want the same thing, she just needed to to be able to divide her attention equally. Evie needs to be one hundred percent present wherever she might be.

Evie had an evil grin that matched his. "I agree." She said while taking a sip of her own. "We both know what to do for raising a child, between the two of us we are going to raise great children." There was something that in normal conversation would never come up, however this wasn't one of those normal conversations.

"We both know what the first step is to have a child." As a Doctor Evie knew the signs to look for when it came to Ovulating, most women would as well just most of them would get a test done to make sure. "We have a window of time right now." She placed her hand on her stomach. "Our chances are pretty high for the next several hours." In conversation this fact would never happen outside of two other people, her Mother and sister. Their cycles were similar, the problem with being pregnant could make things difficult on her. Evie knew that she wasn't going to go through this alone, it would make it a lot easier on her and everyone around them.

Evie knew that when word reached her Father about her being pregnant he would be very happy, probably find a way to spoil his Grandchild. It wouldn't bother him too much he isn't Irish, but he would be happy that Gath was close enough. One piece of information that was brought to her attention once was her Father was more concerned about Evie than Ava, he thought that Evie would be too consumed by work to have a child.

She had a playful tone. "Its a good thing I have a few things in the night stand." Her tone would give him an idea about what was in there. This time around Evie was thinking things through and it wasn't just an impulse, if they did go through with it Evie would still respect herself in the morning.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-08-2026

Evie saw, for the first time, a mild look of surprise from Gath. It didn't shock him, but she coud tell she took him a little off guard. Until that moment, he had thought they were talking in hypotheticals, discussing how compapible they were for a possible future together. The sly little minx had turned the tables on him, so to speak.

Gath had been leaning against the counter a little, bringing them more to the same eye level and e was now studying those beautiful eyes of hers, a new kind of grin slowly spreading across his face into a smile, "You...you're serious...you're feelings are such that you would start a family with me right here and now? Evie, it is not often that someone is able to surprise me, but...yes..." His smile widened even more as he overcame the brief moment of disbelief. Evie had effectively just proposed to him, clarifying a great deal about their relationship in a single instant.

What quickly followed was the first dime Evie had seen Gath in a moment of indecision. He glanced at the food and was trying to determine if it would keep and he should scoop her up and carry her off into the other room, or if he was supposed to try and now focus on preparing dinner with this thought dominating his mind. He could be such a constant strategist and tactician in everything else, yet she had discovered his one weakness. She had touched his heart in more ways than one and had overwhelmed him as a result. He locked eyes with her once more and she could read very clearly that this was uncharted territory for him. This was the first time that someone he had wanted to hear this from had ever said what he had so much wanted to hear.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-08-2026

What Gath didn't take into account was with the background that Ava and Evie both shared, both of them worked in a pub that was a gathering place for all sorts of behavior. She knew what the typical behavior of a hormone driven person was, this wasn't restricted to just men. There were women that Evie had encountered that were even worse then men, they were even more direct about it.

Moving so her feet were between his, Evie put her hands on his hips. "I have studied typical behavior for years, the fact you didn't rip my clothes off like wrapping paper told me a lot. You knew my judgment was compromised you didn't take advantage, you held on strong until I came back to my senses. The posture you held with Alpha Prime told me if things went wrong, I wouldn't have time to blink before you were there to protect me."

She let it sink in a bit. "Everything I have learned about you says that you says, the only thing you put the same level of dedication you have to your Duty is your family. Once you give your word it takes an act of Kahless himself to break it, and that is still too hard for you to take.  I know no matter what way I say this, you would never hurt me or allow me to be hurt." Evie gave him a kiss on the cheek while standing on her tiptoes.

"Family structure in your people is the same as mine, you treat your mother like your queen and your wife wouldn't be treated any different.. Am I serious? its one of the few times I am without doubts, it can wait until you are ready?" Evie never really shared her observations about people with anyone, sometimes people really didn't like it. One more thing she noted about him was the fact he would prefer to hear the hurtful truth than a sugar coated lie, and he was loyal to a fault. He wouldn't force her into anything she didn't want, she didn't want to force him either.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-09-2026

Gath couldn't help but grin at her the entire time she was speaking to him. His eyes never left hers. His expression had softened and he took in every word that she said.

For a moment, he said nothing in return, he only took a slow deep breath and let it out just a slowly, but once he had, he effortlessly scooped her up in his arms and effortlessly began carrying her as he said softly, "I'm sorry dear, but dinner is going to be a little late. I've decided that we're going to start with dessert."

He then carried her into the other room, where it is entirely possible that not all of their clothing survived as they consummated their relationship in a very definitive manner.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-10-2026

Evie wasn't sure what amount of time passed between when it happened to where they are now, as she was laying there it felt like something was missing or someone. Evie had found someone that she felt drawn too him, he was a man unlike most she had ever met before. She was drawn to more than his strengths, Evie just knew and this was something her sister would pick up on if they were together. Ava and Evie often communicated but it wasn't the same, they haven't been apart for more than a few hours before. All she knew was when it came to Duty there was no time to think of such things, or at the wrong time it could cost someone a lot.

There were a lot of reasons that Evie was attracted to Gath, she felt this deeper than ever before. At one point Evie aloud herself to be vulnerable to him, what happened today was more than just casual. It was clear that both parties were not treating it that way, or one of them would be getting dressed ready to leave. With everything that just happened it was a giant release for them both, this was something both of them needed. When they recover their strength, both will feel better.

Getting up Evie went and made them both a little something to drink, it wasn't alcoholic it contained everything needed for a recovery. It was one of her many trained responses that she got from her mother, the drink she made for Gath was a special blend meant for his needs while hers went without saying. "Here is something for you to drink, it helps with the recovery process both of us need." Normally after something like this would make them both incredibly sore the next day, just like doing anything else that was physically demanding.

"Before we can continue dinner we need to recuperate strength, this took everything we had." It was a surprise for Evie as she stood there with an apron on. The drinks were something that Evie didn't replicate, it was something she made from an old family recipe slightly adjusted for him.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-10-2026

Gath had propped himself up and watched Evie as she moved around the place. The feeling in the air had changed and he grinned to himself at understanding why, but he didn't say anything just yet. She eventually brought him over a drink that she had made that was intended to help him recover. He smiled and got up to accept the drink. in his own mind, he knew that he pretty much trained harder than most professional athletes, so he wasn't too worried about recovering, but he felt it would be wrong to say so.

There was no longer a reason to be shy when he stood and took the drink, "Thank you, that was very thoughtful." He took a drink of it and nodded, "Yep, that will help."

He took a moment to set it down though and attend to her as well. He moved slowly and gently, assessing how she had been moving and her breathing. Gath took in every small detail about her as he lightly ran his fingers through her hair and then pulled her to him in a loving embrace. Feeling her heartbeat against him was calming. Taking the time to draw in a deep breath, the smell her hair was intoxicating.

Feeling her skin against his, he let the breath out slowly, his voice barely above a whisper "I see you, Evie O'Fee. I hear you. I feel you. I know you and I love you."

He then gave her a soft kiss and smiled. It had been a brief and deeply serious moment as they caught their breath, but he wanted the night to remain fun, because he loved seeing her smile.

"So, do you suggest I take a shower before we resume making dinner, or should I just put on an apron as well? Personally, I would love to take a shower with you, but that might also lead to an even longer delay in dinner. I think that it should be the lady's choice though. What say you?"

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Evie O’Fee - 09-11-2026

It didn't happen to Evie before where the very air felt differently, this was something she didn't share with Gath because Evie wasn't really sure what it meant. Everything about this whole thing was different, Evie didn't feel objectified at all in her Highschool Sweetheart phase there was a lot of that. Here it was replaced by a warm embrace, at first her heart rate did go up again until a few seconds later it started to slow down back to its normal rhythm.

"I see you, Evie O'Fee. I hear you. I feel you. I know you and I love you." Starting to melt a little more Gath could feel her embracing him more with her head in his chest. The statement was more than just the obvious, to be seen and heard as a person Evie couldn't talk for a few seconds before she could again. ""I see you, Gath. I hear you. I feel you. I know you and I love you." Her voice was in a whisper as well, she closed her eyes enjoying this time.

Evie had an evil grin thinking about a shower together, it was big enough for the two plus her showerhead was something different. It was a rainfall shower head that had more than ninety jets in it, it would be a good experience for them both. "Yes it will be another delay, but I really think we should." Evie really didn't want to move from this position, but knew they really should.

Evie was getting ready to take this shower with Gath, she had never thought of taking a shower with another person before. That was a place where she usually preferred solitude, now she felt completely different. "Let me get it ready for us."

The shower was a little bigger than the ones in other quarters, the showerhead as well. Evie really didn't like the Sonic showers, it made her skin feel strange for hours it also removed too much moisture. On the floor of the shower was adhesive stickers that looked like ducks with umbrellas, just to make sure no one fell and dislocated their shoulder. The wall had a bit of a grip to it as well, Evie liked to lean against it but didn't want to slip during a shower. The room was filling up with steam making a great steam bath as well, two birds one stone as the saying would go.

Evie set out fresh towels with one that could be used as a blanket for a double bed, she felt something for Gath that was more than just surface love. Both of them loved each other for who they were, not just what they could do for each other. Evie could picture Ava in the room for a second, it wouldn't take her too long to approve of him.

After Gath joined her for the shower, Evie was ready to try this for the first time. It did make her a little nervous but Gath always made her feel secure, now loved in a way that she never really had before. "The way how we are going, dinner might turn to breakfast." Evie didn't want this to end at all, the Breakfast would be enjoyable. Evie had an undeniable smile at the thought he would still be there in the morning, while they were together Evie could really think of one person and how to make him happy. Evie knew one more important fact that she learned to look for from her mother, happiness isn't just a one way street. Nor dose it just involve pleasures of the flesh or food and drink, its a unified experience where both do the same thing. Deep in her heart Evie knew that the day she is pregnant it would be nice at first, then it was going to be a very bumpy ride.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-11-2026

Evie continued to impress Gath when she recited his words back to him. The subject then shifted to their shower and the further delay of their meal. He smiled as she agreed that perhaps they should, even if it delayed their meal until breakfast. To that, he only replied, "As you wish."

When he saw the size of the one towel, he chuckled, "I like the idea of a shared towel. It redefines the idea of having some good, clean fun."

As they stepped into the shower, he said, "What I said to you, you repeated back to me. You should know that those words are simple, but sacred. I'm Gath of the House of Baal and by tradition, we are now bound. Rings or not, this is a simple truth now. However, I'm not a foolish barbarian and if this was not your intent, then I give you this chance to say so. It will not change that I have bound myself to you, but you must make this choice knowing in advance and of your own free will."

While he said this, he surprised her by beginning to wash her before he washed himself. For a man with a reputation as a strong warrior type, his touch was softer and more gentle than ever. His hands moved as caringly as if her were bathing an infant. He took care to hold up her hand and wash each finger in turn, rinsing it and then placing a kiss there before moving on. It was an entirely different kind of intimacy, unrushed and deliberate in its nature. She had expected more violence and animalistic aspects to such moments, but the entire evening had been enlightening as it revealed more and more of who Gath was in private. There had been very physical moments so far, and before their shower was done, those little duck stickers were definitely going to be credited with saving both of their lives, more than once, but right in that moment, where he kissed her hand, there was a new kind of honesty between them that took the breath away.

They would indeed be discussing things over breakfast by the time they were done. Evie would also likely need another one of those drinks as well. On the upside, she realized that she probably wasn't going to need to go to the gym as often anymore.

Rings or not, this is a simple truth now. However, I'm not a foolish barbarian and if this was not your intent, then I give you this chance to say so. Evie was aware that in Klingons traditions when it came to marriage weren't the same as Earth, sometimes all they really did was vows to each other. This was one of those times where the words really had a definition, they had another traditional wedding ceremony that took a few days to go through with. That is not including planning, and who is what in the ceremony. "I Evie O'Fee from the great house O'Fee, recognize the tradition binding myself and all that I am to you." Both of them had different cultural backgrounds, surprisingly no matter how different they appeared they were really similar.

The water on her skin felt nice, it was softer than she expected. There was a pare of her that was surprised she didn't hurt him, she was following his lead being gentile as possible. Between the water relaxing every muscle, the attention to detail Gath had made it feel heavenly. Her accent got thicker during this experience, until it got to the point it was like she was back home. Sometimes holding her breath Evie couldn't hide she was enjoying this. Most of the time this was happening, Evie had her eyes closed. The pair really seemed to meld together as she was following his lead, out of all of her new experiences this was her favorite.

After he was done washing her, Evie started to do the same. She started at the top working her way down, in the shower his muscles became a little more relaxed with her touch. She paid equal amount of attention to detail for him that he did for her. from head to toe there wasn't much that Evie missed, her smaller hands made it into areas that was hard for others to get into. Every now and again Gath would feel her kiss on his muscles, biceps, neck, and the list continues. By the time Evie was done, she was sure that they needed a pick me up kind of drink. Hers was going to have a higher level of calcium, and a few other vitamins that would help her in the long run.

Before she did anything else Evie could do anything else, she used some mouth wash. Oral hygiene was important to her, before their next big kiss Evie wanted to be minty fresh. It became clear that a conversation with dad was going to be involved. Evie retrieved the big towel wrapping it around his shoulders first before getting in close, she was looking him directly in the eye. "I think this is the day that my Dad stops worrying that I met the wrong guy, and starts to worry that I met the right guy." It was important to her that both of them meet, as she said to him earlier about how he treated his mother. The equal and opposite was true about a girl and her father, they always had a close relationship together. "I can see this turning into breakfast." She gave him a kiss again.

"I have never met anyone like you before." She put her hands in his. "I love with everything I am, Family and duty are my top two priorities." Evie knew he was the same way, both even had responsibilities that would call them away at any given time, as a Doctor she had to be available getting to Sickbay at the fastest time possible. She loved his warm embrace, it too was unlike anything she ever experienced.

"We should get another drink, both of us are going to need it." Evie had something special in mind for him, it tasted good and was loaded with all the vitamins his body needed.

RE: ZE/D02 - Crew Quarters - Gath - 09-13-2026

Gath grimed at Evie with deep appreciation. There was a growling sound from him deep in his chest, but it was a sound of pure satisfaction and he nodded slowly.

"You're smart, beautiful and strong of spirit. You speak your mind and know what you want. You have great love and respect for yourself and others and you do nothing my half measures. You are a rare person indeed. Science often focuses on how much entropy there is in the universe, yet there are times, like this, when improbable things come together in defiance of those forces. This is not a coincidence, it is a convergence. I have never been happier than now."

He pulled her close, "We had better get those drinks." After a moment, he added, "You know, fish actually makes a pretty good breakfast. Someday, we should go fishing. It is much better when caught fresh and cooked over an open fire."
