== Welcome to your holodeck Cadet McKay,

Read the following information carefully, because it has a fair amount of important information for you.  If you have any questions or difficulties at any time, please contact one of the following people for assistance.  We’d be glad to help you out.

Captain Esperenson: Esperenson@fed-space.com

Commander Jasal: sforcom@fed-space.net

Commander Allen: allen@fed-space.com

Remember during your time at the Academy that people who have responsibilities such as school, jobs, and family, maintain Federation Space. There are times when we all have to wait longer than we’d like for a reply to a post or a question. Patience and treating each other with respect and dignity are two things that are absolutely required of all members.

On the flip side, the Constitution states that players need to post at least twice a week.  If you find you are unable to keep up due to something coming up in real life responsibilities or you’re just going to be on holiday, please let one of the Admins know.  You will be granted a leave of absence for the length of time you think you’ll be away.  If you don’t let us know and you suddenly disappear, this could end up with you being considered AWOL and eventually removed from the active cadet roster.

With that said, let’s get to your character’s bio!

Please begin by posting your bio using the template found below. Once posted, your bio will be reviewed by an evaluations representative. They will post comments for you and suggest any adjustments your bio might require.  Once they approve your bio, you will be assigned an instructor and your adventure will begin!

Federation Space is a written RPG. With that said, we ask that you try to pay attention to spelling and grammar in your posts.  Posts that are properly formatted are easier and more enjoyable for everyone to read. I strongly recommend you run your bio and any posts you make through a spell check before posting them.

A few things to keep in mind while writing your bio.  First, certain species are not playable.  Click here for a catalog of playable races. Second, a great resource when it comes to filling out the bio form is the Character Development page. Lastly, our Star Fleet Majors and Minors.  This is a great page to understand the Academy curriculum.  One last thing, we would like you to take time to read and understand our site's canon page.  It's important for you understand what ‘Trek’ related info is on our site.

Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!  Hope to see you playing soon and have fun!

Holodeck-08, here we go.

She stood in front of the closed doors and took a deep breath. Claire walked calmly into her assigned holodeck and began studying the room. The black floor, ceiling and walls overlaid with a yellow grid pattern was no stranger to Claire. The room was warm, as if the holo-emitters had already been running for a while. Another Cadet must have already completed their final exam in this room not shortly before she arrived.

Standing in the middle of the room, she closed her eyes. Claire began going over procedures and medications in her mind, sifting through the file cabinets of mental notes she had made. Logically, she thought to herself that the final exam would be related to her major, Medical. A plethora of scenarios began playing as she clearly envisioned the correct response to each. Doubt also began to creep its way in. What if she fails? What if she disappoints her parents and the dream that she has worked for vanishes from her grasp?

Her eyes opened. She knew was ready, and nothing was going to stop her now.

“Computer, open biological personnel file, Cadet Claire McKay.”

==Greetings Cadet, I am Commander Carrs and I will be assisting with your bio!

Overall, a great start! What I'd like to see, however, is the bio re-posted using the form provided in Commander Allen's post rather than the form you've used (which is for wiki purposes).

I'd also like to see a bit more detail in your character's personal history: usually we look for three or four good-length paragraphs here.

If you have any questions, please let me know!==

She would participate in many lab courses as well complete extra holographic medical scenarios. Claire seemed to be constantly working through the Academy, never satisfied with what she had as she knew there was always more to learn. in her first year, she was surprised by the complexity of the course work she had been given. There was so much to learn about human anatomy and physiology in medicine and adding in all of the Federation species made things interesting.

By her second year at Starfleet Academy, Claire had completed and understood a basic overview of first year courses. Although enrolled in the Medical and Science Division of Starfleet Academy, Claire would still need to pass basic combat and marksmanship training. Claire would become adeot with the Type-2 Phaser Pistol, preferring its firing and accuracy over the phaser rifles issued by Starfleet. Hand-To-Hand combat was not something Claire would be proficient with. She preferred working with people who were already injured and patching them up instead of inflicting the injury herself. She did, however, pass the required training, hoping she would never have to employ the techniques. Not being proficient in this category frustrated Claire. She knew she had the intelligence to remember minute information about diseases, medications, and alien biology, yet simple grappling and physical maneuvering was something she would not be able to master.

In her third year, Claire would meet Soren T'Rol, a Vulcan medical cadet she had been paired with for her labs and practical exercises. Claire immediately formed a friendship with this cadet as they were both competent and knowledgeable in their field of practice and could work well together in stressful environments such as emergency and combat medical practices. Claire and Soren would get along because although she was human, her mind worked as a Vulcan's, using logic to dictate the necessary precautions, procedures, and outcomes of different events. Soren became somewhat of a guide for Claire, teaching her to disconnect herself fro the personal side of medicine and focus on the practice itself. In Starfleet, there will be times where Claire will have to assist in life-threatening medical innovation, weather on her crew or on the people of the galaxies. Soren explained that she must not allow her emotion to get in the way of completing her duty as a doctor and she would keep this information with her for the rest of her time in the Academy.

Upon reaching her fourth year, Claire knew that she was ready to get out there and experience the universe for all of its teaching opportunities. Her coursework had prepared her for the upcoming trials and she was ready to finally see if everything she had trained for would be put into practice. Although she would never hope for a member of her crew to be injured, Claire would grow excited at the chance of healing her comrades. However, there was a hint of hesitation. She had lost patients before but they were Holograms and tests. Out in the field, these would be real lives at stake. This was the moment where Cadet T'Rol's advice would stay with her: to focus on her roll as a Starfleet Doctor first, and avoid the personal connections and conflicting emotions which may impede her logical reasoning.

==Pleasure to meet you, Commander Carrs.
Thank you for your assistance and I apologize for the formatting mistake!

The bio has been altered to the correct format posted by Commander Allen in the Holodeck and the personal history has been updated as well to include more information regarding Claire's experiences at Starfleet Academy as well as emotions and reactions to certain events and more on Cadet Soren T'Rol, her friend and colleague.==

==Very good, Cadet! An enjoyable read!

There are a few spelling and grammatical errors that I'd like you to hunt down and clean up, and on Federation Space we use the term "Star Fleet" instead of "Starfleet" (it's a legal concern).

Once that's done, we'll get you an Instructor!==
