Season 5 will be the final season of Star Trek Discovery, it has been announced, and it will air in 2024.

 

Love it or loathe it, I hope they spend the year preparing a good send off with closure for the show.

Hopefully with them pushing the release back a year, maybe they'll take the time to make the last season better.

 

Unfortunately, I won't be holding my breath. It probably won't hold a candle to Lower Decks, Prodigy, or Strange New Worlds, but I'd like to be surprised.

The only good season of Discovery was season 2, which had Pike in it... hence SNW, since to be honest I haven't gone out my way to watch Discovery as it doesn't seem to grab me like the other Trek and on top of that, they never seem to flesh out the other characters on the Bridge by the 3rd season I could still only name about three of them out of the cast which is sad and no wonder it is coming to an end.

Thank god; and I'm Atheist. 

 

The only good things I can say about the show are 1. They didn't destroy Captain Pike's character, (and I do somewhat enjoy Strange New Worlds so far) and 2. they generally had interesting ideas, but didn't have any actual talent that could pull it off. 

 

As for the finale, I'll watch it just out of morbid curiosity. Until then, I'll stick to reviews.
