AQ/D03-04 - Main Shuttlebay - Paul - 03-02-2024 == RE: AQ/D03-04 - Main Shuttlebay - Kalli Thorn - 07-15-2024 == NPC Lt Tom Krandall, Tactical == When the ship went to Yellow Alert, Tom's instant reaction was to find out what was going on. Without direct communication with the Bridge, he could only find out that there had been some kind of distress signal and that they were at the border and stopped. That wasn't much, but it was enough. He headed to the Shuttle Bay to see if anyone had started to ready a craft. It was Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to have one standing by. Even if they were beaming people back and forth with the transporters, you wanted a manual backup plan in place, just for safety. In his experience, you either launched a shuttle to have it standing by, or you had one warmed up and could launch within seconds, should the need arise. Tom quickly spoke with the the Production Superintendent (Pro Super) for the Flight Deck. In quick order, a craft was pointed out and brought into position. A secondary was prepped for launch as well, just in case. Tom began a walk-around with the ground crew, beginning a quick preflight. Although the Thrusters were not engaged at all, he did initiate the start-up sequence and had the core warmed up to a "Hot Cocked" status. Tom's old instincts as a former fighter pilot were at the front of his thoughts. He wanted them to have options, just in case. His experience had told him that you should have the answers before your boss asks the questions. Should the bosses decide to check their status boards, they would find shuttles already standing by, should they have need of them. == Just thought I would add a little something for Tactical to feel good about... == |
