== Temporary NPC Ensign Kevin Reynolds ==

"Oh no," he gasped in a high pitched voice. "No, no, no, no, no...." He looked down at his hand in panic. Three of his fingers were stuck in one of the rocks that had phased on board the ship. Everything buy his pointer finger and thumb was stuck in this meteor that had been floating nearby and suddenly turned into solid matter. He tried pulling his hand free before anyone would notice, but to no avail. He squeezed his eyes shut. "This is only a dream. This isn't really happening," he told himself. When he opened one eye, his hand was still in pain, and he was still stuck to the meteor.

"They'll never make me a Captain now. What am I going to tell my mother," he whined. Using his free hand he finally tapped his communicator. "Um, Ensign Reynolds to Sickbay," he said in a slightly panicked voice. "Medical Emergency in the Cargo Bay. Please?"

[Om my way] came Dr Jolly's response to Ensign Reynolds emergence call.

It was several minutes before Dr Jolly arrived in the cargo bay. He immediately spotted an Ensign with what Dr Jolly recognised was one of those rocks in his hand, but as he approached, he could see that the Ensign's hand, more accurately three of his fingers where in the rock.

"How do you do that, Ensign?" Dr Jolly asked calmly as he simultaneously opened his medical kit, took out a medical tricorder and scanned the Ensign's rock with his fingers fused into it and then scanned the Ensign taking his vitals.

==Temp NPC Kevin==

[On my way] came Dr Jolly's response to Ensign Reynolds emergency call.

Kevin turned to lean his rear against the meteor to rest in relief, then yelp-screamed when he realized what he'd almost done, accidentally yanking on his wrist again when his reflexes pulled him back. Though the pain in his wrist barely registered, he had worse pain - and fears overriding that as beads of sweat started building up on his forehead.

The fact that the doctor didn't seem to be alarmed was somewhat reassuring, though the ensign wasn't entirely convinced that this would turn out favorable. "It was an accident, Doctor. I was trying to get back there," Kevin awkwardly used his right hand to point over his head to a corner to where the antigrav sleds were stored. "I thought if we could get one under it before it phased in. I guess I swung my arm out as just the wrong time." Kevin moaned. "Is it bad, Doc?"

==His heart rate is high from all the panicking, but otherwise good. His hand is in there, bones and circulatory system are likely in danger if not already crushed/bleeding respectively from the pressure, and his skin/dermal layers probably are intermingled a bit with the rock making extraction tricky. Feel free to take some creative liberties here with his condition and your tx. Oh - and he probably sprained his wrist from all the yanking around Wink ==

== Sorry for the long delay I've lost a bit of interest, but I'll get into it again soon I'm sure. ==
== I'm assuming that the rock is out of flux and had solidified over NPC Kevin's hand==

Dr Jolly bounced into action, first with a medical tricorder. The readings told the jolly Doctor that Kevin's heart rate was high.

Probably from his state of panic, completely understandable.

The pressure the rock was most likely exerting was causing bones and circulatory system danger. Capillaries had begun to bust and bleed into Kevin's hand and his index finger's phalanges and his little finger's metacarpal were broken. but the worst was yet to come. The rock had fused with the skin and flesh of his hand to a depth of 3 millimeters. This would make extraction tricky. Oh - and his wrist was sprained as he became more frantic at trying to pull his hand out of the rock.

In an attempt to distract Kevin, Dr Jolly asked "Well Keven me old son, you're in perfect health except for that rock fused into your hand. We'll have to get that off, somehow, soon, son. What made you grab a'hold of it in the first place?

Meanwhile as the conversation with Kevin got underway, Dr Jolly was working on a solution. His first thought was the most practical and simplest way. Amputation! His second thought was that the first thought was probably not the way to go. His third thought of drilling the bulk of the rock away from his hand. That was not practical either. He finally found a solution, chemical extraction via the transporter. All he needed to do was scan the rocky hand, or was it a handy rock, for the rock's chemical structure, which Jon proceeded to do with the medical tricorder as the conversation continued.

Kevin scratched the back of his head with his good hand his eyes still wide with panic. "Perfect health. Well, that's good. I suppose it is just a hand right?" He gulped. "I didn't mean to... Grab a hold of it. I wasn't trying to touch it or anything I don't think. I was just walking from there to go over there," Kevin awkwardly pointed using his good head to point one direction, then reached over his head to show the doctor the other direction.

"I think I must have accidently brushed my hand through it when I was walking by. I didn't even realize I had touched it. Oh gosh, I'm not going to lose my hand am I?" Kevin asked. "I mean, not that a bionic hand wouldn't be kind of cool, I just never thought it would happen this way." Kevin's hand went toward his mouth and then away as he resisted the urge to bite his nails.

==GM Fields had already noted in another thread that they are readable via tricorders and are just regular rocks, and we've been successful at drilling them.==

== Thanks for inspiring me to get back into this jolly character. Did you receive my email answer to your message re your NRC character? ==

"Do you want to lose your hand for a bionic one? I can do that. But it's not a good medical option. Although, I did think about it for a millisecond. No, what I'm going to do is arrange transport for you and the transporter will filter out the rock. It will take a few seconds, be painless and on your return, you will be minus a rock with a normal functioning hand. I just have to send this information to the transporter chief and it will all happen. I'm sending you to sickbay because there are a couple of minor things I'll need to do before you can return to duty."

Jolly tapped his comms badge, "Lt Jolly to transporter room 3, internal medical transport for Kevin who is standing beside me, to Sickbay, and please set the filter to extract the chemical composition I'm sending you now, please. Let me know when you're ready."

I was less than a minute with the transporter chief replied, [Transport ready when you are, Lieutenant.]

"Ok. Kevin, I'll see you in Sickbay, when I get there. Transporter room initiate transport"

GM Ra'an - Does Kevin arrive in Sickbay post there and I'll finish the treatment. If he doesn't, I'll find some painful medical procedure to perform on you. LOL. Oh! NO! I forgot Fed Space 101, 'Do not threaten GMs, it never ends well'. I retract that last sentence outside the == makes. ==

Kevin gulped as his skin paled at the suggestion of a bionic hand coming from the doctor himself. "Uh NO! I mean, um, I'd if you think you can save my real hand I think that would be best, don't you, Doctor?" Kevin's arm was starting to hurt extremely bad, sharp pains shooting up through his shoulder, and he couldn't feel his hand at all.

Jolly tapped his comms badge, "Lt Jolly to transporter room 3, internal medical transport for Kevin who is standing beside me, to Sickbay, and please set the filter to extract the chemical composition I'm sending you now, please. Let me know when you're ready."

Transporter rooms 1 and 2 had received injured Ferengi crew from the phasing vessel and called for medics.

A very angry group of Nausicaans was beamed to the Cargo Bay.

With no one particularly attending to the Nausicaans, several of them started to get agitated and throw around boxes.

Two of the cargo bay personnel were grabbed and their combadges and equipment taken.

The Nausicaans then exited into the corridors...

== Awe man I was trying to wait for Nira. OK we will play it that way ==

== NPC, Security Crewman Anessa Wade ==

Anessa with two other security personnel stepped in to the Cargo Bay a little two late after the Nausicaans had already left and found the injured crewman.

Anessa immediately surveilled the scene and ran over to one of the downed crewman. She didn't need to be told that their combadges were taken and she was worried that they may have weapons.

"Call for medical team!" She ordered to the other two security. She then tapped her badge

"Wade to Commander Said, Commander the Nausicaans have attacked cargo bay personnel and have moved out of cargo bay. They may have weapons!"

Nira was quick to answer [Lock down cargo bay and close down all turbolifts Get two more security and start tracking them down I will coordinate and see if we can't sandwich them in. Said Out]

Anessa nodded and heard her crewmen call for medical who was stretched pretty far.

"Ok you two with me. Looks like we are hunting Nausicaans" She said and ran out the room not exactly sure which way to go headed towards the turbo lift and opposite direction they came from as they did not pass their guest on the way in.
