==The Drunken Tribble Bar==
Out of all the places Keti could have gone, he chose to go there. It was surprising even to him that this was the place, it was in attempt to break all old habits they were not working. The drink that he ordered was pretty tasty and not all that strong, the Long Island Iced tea was pretty good as he drank it pretty slowly. There wasn't too many people there, so it gave him the opportunity to really think. The activity that caught his interest the most was Darts, it seemed to be a simple game. Throwing a dart at a board, and a certain order. Right now he just needed to figure out a few other details, like throwing it too the board. As the first one he threw hit the wall under it, he realized how to make the proper adjustment. With every shot that he took, Keti was getting closer to figuring out how hard to toss and how to angle the dart. Like anything else, it will take time. ==Tag anyone if you like==

== The Drunken Tribble Bar ==
Ameen was happy to be off the ship for a bit. Despite the Titania's size he was starting to feel a little claustrophobic. It wasn't just about the size of the ship though, it was more about seeing the same things over and over again. It didn't help that the last mission did not involve any away team activity so no change of scenery was offered. Another perk of being on shore leave was the opportunity to go out in civilian clothing for a change. Taking full advantage of this, Morad was now in a dark blue jeans, a simple white t-shirt under a red and black Plaid shirt. The shirt was unbuttoned reflecting his relaxed mood. The outfit complimented to his tall athletic built, emphasizing his broad shoulders. He also wore a cologne which was very unusual thing for him to do. He had received a bottle as a gift on his last birthday, and it has been sitting on his shelf for a while now. I don't even remember the name of that thing... but I like the smell... it has this nice spices and woods tone to it... The first officer made his way to the bar and toke a seat. The bartender closer to his location was wiping the counter with a towel. Stereotypical I guess... "How may help you hun?" She asked with a pleasant, if not a little flirty tone without looking up at him. "Scotch on the rocks... hun." He returned her smile back in kind. She giggled at his attempt of breaking the ice. It really wasn't needed, she recognized the voice now. "Morad Ameen?" Her brown eyes lit up as her gaze met his. "That nice cologne sure fooled me. You are back to me so soon, quick mission huh?" "It was alright. We did what we needed to do and now we are back here, waiting for the next one. And the cologne, I'm just trying something new I guess. How about you Cindy? Same old same old?" He asked as he watched her pour him one and she added a little extra before she placed it in front of him. "Yup, people coming and going. Sometimes, they never comeback. But I got used to it. You know how it is..." Cindy replied, her full lips pressed together. "Thanks." He raised his glass to her before taking that first delicious sip. "Mmmm... that really hit the spot." She gave him a knowing grin. Those words seemed to bring back some interesting memories for her, but it was too late for him to take them back now. It was one hell of a night... but that's all it was... one night... "Ahem..." He recomposed himself as he pushed that thought out of his mind. "Have you seen anyone else from the Titania here or am I the first one." Looking a little disappointed, Cindy turned her head toward the Darts area. "He beat you to it." She said. "New to the game, but he is picking it up real quick." "Oh yes." Morad replied. "He is our science officer. Learning quickly is part of the job description." He then picked up his drink and stood up. "I'll see you around Cindy." He said. "Thanks for the drink." "See you Morad. Don't be a stranger." Cindy said as she watched walk away to the darts area. Her last word lingered in his mind. She put a certain emphasis on it. This young woman was surrounded by people, yet he always felt she was lonely. Part of him wanted to give her more, but he knew better. I am done with the 'I can fix her' stuff. People are not an engineering problem that needs fixing... I have to learn to let go... He walked over to Keti as he watched his crewmate's form and technique. "Not bad." Ameen said. "Care for a friendly match? Winner buys the loser a drink." == Tag Keti ==

==Drunken Tribble Bar==
There was a lot more to the game that Keti was still starting to understand, it was more of the balance that he was having trouble with. how hard to throw at what angle with the perfect release. It was the way how people would aim, making the dart go to the area of the board he wanted. There were three rings on the board that were small, but they were all equal in size. At the center what they called the eye of the bull, it was a little confusing because it didn't look like a bull nor one of its eyes. He didn't notice at first the approach of the First Officer approach, he also appeared to have a lot on his mind. "Scotch Whiskey I have been learning the smell." Keti said with a semi smile. He soon asked for one for himself, but with out the ice cube making it neat. He wanted to expand on every kind of experience there was, it would make him understand why it is enjoyable or not. "I hear people who enjoy Whiskey are more likely to enjoy a cigar, I already enjoy a cigar from time to time perhaps the reverse is also true." Darts was a great game to regain some kind of focus and balance, also a way to gain perspective. After Ameen approached Keti was happy for the company, he was also happy for the first game he played. There was still a few things he can learn about the game, the rules and how to win were those items. "I would love a game, a practice game would be fun. It will also give me a chance to figure out a way to win a free drink." He wasn't sure how the small attempt at humor would come across, he was still attempting to figure out how to be funny. Gathering up six darts for the game, three of them were red the other were blue. "I shoot for Science, you for Command." In the end both were part of the same crew. "I guess we throw closest to the Eye of the Bull to see who goes first." He threw his first dart at the board, and it hit the twenty slot about two fingers above the green inner circle. "I guess I still need some calibration, just like the reason I chose to learn this game. From what I understand this game is about a certain finesse, being good at this might help me be better on the Bridge and with the crew." There was a certain amount of Science that was mixed in with some philosophy, his previous experience with the crew wasn't the greatest. He didn't think people didn't like him, just the actions he put out there or didn't. The truth of the matter was Keti didn't give them much of a chance, and now here was a chance to fix the situation. ==Tag Commander==

Samantha would be joining hir later at shift's end but Keir didn't need to wait for hir so s/he dressed casually and headed in. There were not a lot of the crew and Keir had hoped to meet the young science officer that s/he had worked with but was disappointed to not find Amila present so s/he tapped hir comm badge. "Keir to Amila; looks like you are missing out on the party at the Drunken tribble Bar, come join us" Not getting an immediate response was not surprising as Amila could be busy, so rather than simply wait s/he approached the bar and raised hir hand to get the attractive bartenders attention. Keir was going to have to be discreet because Sam could be a bit jealous so s/he simply smiled as she approached. "Evening, I was hoping you would have a good scotch whiskey available. I was hoping for a Glenfiddich 18-Year-old scotch; do you carry it?" She grinned and offered a wink, "Lemme check. Luv." It was clear that the bartender was a flirt, but Keir kept hir expression understated and waited while she checked, , returning with an older bottle of the same brand but of a different Reserve. "We do have Glenfiddich, but only the 21 Year Grab Reserve," which clearly surprised her as Keir's face lit up. "Oh my," Keir lifted the bottle which she then looked closely at smiling broadly. "Oh, this is so much better, my wife will be thrilled. Can you start with a couple of shots? and I will return once I need a refill. Once again s/he was careful not to encourage a reaction and simply nodded warmly and carried her two glasses over, taking a seat near to the Dart players. "So, is anyone taking odds on the first game? If possible I'll take on the winner." And while waiting she lovingly sipped the treasured beverage. ==Tags Morad and Jukish==

Amila was shopping not far away when she heard Keir's invitation come through. She was a bit surprised to hear from the Chief Engineer on shore leave, but she wrapped up what she was doing and found the bar that she was talking about on the station map and made her way there.
As she approached, Amila hoped that there wasn't a dress code. She was dressed casually in a fitted white tee and light blue pants. Her hair was in a loose pony tail and the waves fell in ringlets around her face. When she peeked through the door, she was relieved to see that the atmosphere was more than a little laid back, even a bit sporty. Amila also spotted Keir and almost did a double take when she noticed who Keir was with. She laughed to herself as she stood up a little straighter and walked toward the table near the darts area where Keir had found Ameen and Keti. "So, someone tells me I'm missing out on the party," Amila called out with a smile as she approached everyone.

"I would love a game." Keti replied. "A practice game would be fun. It will also give me a chance to figure out a way to win a free drink."
Ameen chuckled as Jukish gathered up the darts, red and blue, and handed Ameen the red set. "I shoot for Science, you for Command." The science officer said and Morad nodded in agreement. The idea was elegant and it made sense. "I guess we throw closest to the Eye of the Bull to see who goes first." Keti got them started. "Good shot." Ameen said as he watched him hit the twenty slot about two fingers above the green inner circle. "I guess I still need some calibration, just like the reason I chose to learn this game. From what I understand this game is about a certain finesse, being good at this might help me be better on the Bridge and with the crew." Jukish said. The FO took his position and took aim. "The idea is to relax and focus on your breathing. Don't stress over it too much." He replied, he was talking about both the game and dealing with the bridge crew at the same time. "After all, our goal here is to have fun, so we are working to reach the same goal." His hit landed right next to Keti's but a tiny bit further away from the bull's eye. "Blue starts." Ameen conceded. "So, is anyone taking odds on the first game? If possible I'll take on the winner." A familiar voice said from behind the FO. "Keir, good timing as always." Morad said with a broad smile. "You sure can. We are just about to start, so you may have to enjoy that drink for a little bit longer." "So, someone tells me I'm missing out on the party." The unmistakable voice of Amila called out as she approached them. And there she is... that voice, always brighten my mood... "Oh hey. You haven't missed anything yet." He said to her. "As I was telling Keir, we are just about to start... grab a drink and enjoy the show." She looks great... in or out of uniform... maybe today I could finally ask her out... ugh... focus Morad. There are other people here. "So who you will be cheering for guys? Red for Command, blue for Science!" He asked the two spectators. For the keen eye, subtle changes will hint that the FO have lost some of his earlier composer. He seemed a bit distracted by the new arrival. == Tag everyone. It's officially a party now! lol ==

==Drunken Tribble Bar==
There was a lot of truth in what he was saying, getting too excited over something can disrupt how you breathe. Get frustrated about something, and your judgment gets clouded. Keti thought of him as a wise man, there was also an applied logic to it. As Keti was about to speak, Keir joined them and it relaxed him more. With Keir there it became a little more easier, it would be easier with one more person that will make it easier. "Good too see you again my friend, no one is taking odds here but I have a feeling I will win this one." He was about to say that she can take on the winner, but Amila came in, and his smile couldn't be bigger. "Everyone knows that a true party doesn't really start unless there are two Science Officers present, now that you are here the party has started." Keti ordered four China whites, it was a milky shot that was easy enough for anyone to take. The content wouldn't send the blood alcohol levels too high too fast, plus they tasted good. It was like a lot of lessons that he could remember, all about focus breathing and most important balance. Keti grabbed the darts and handed the red one to Ameen by the flight, and as he could feel something different in the air. Sure it wasn't as powerful as the Empathic ability of a Betazoid, but the instincts have served him right in the past. They were also going to serve him better in the future, they were being refined by the minute. "One of the greatest lessons I can recall for this occasion, she just happens to be a First Officer as well." Keti took his stance to throw a dart with his right hand, he threw the first dart and it landed a finger below the red slot of the second ring of the twenty. "The most important part of anything is putting yourself out there, and don't get too discouraged when it doesn't work out." He threw a second dart that went a little off, it landed above the same line in the thirteen. "Your second attempt might not work out as well, but still it was a good attempt." In his left hand Keti had the last dart by the tip, and he threw it at the Dart Board hitting the Bulls Eye. "When you put yourself out there it isn't always going to work, switch it up a little and sometimes the results can amaze you." Keti was surprised it actually hit the mark, but sometimes that happens. ==Tag you three==

Amila was happy to get a warm welcome as she approached the table. "Oh hey. You haven't missed anything yet." Morad greeted her. "As I was telling Keir, we are just about to start... grab a drink and enjoy the show."
Amila's eyes met Morad's with some intention as she smiled and gave him a subtle nod. "I will." The game between Keti and Morad was getting ready to start, and Morad made a point to ask, "So who you will be cheering for guys? Red for Command, blue for Science!" "Blue, science, all the way," Amila said defiantly as she put her palm on the table. "Clean him up, Keti!" Though she had made a point to cheer for Keti, she stole a glance toward Morad to try to catch his reaction. The sparkle in her eyes giving away that it was all for fun. He made her nervous, in an exciting sort of way. As Keti ordered shots, Amila snuck in her own order of a spiced Orion beer she'd seen on display. While she waited for her order she grabbed a chair and leaned back to watch Keti throw. When he landed the final bullseye she instinctively jumped up clapped. "Well done!" She exclaimed, holding her hand up for a high five. =Tag=
Keir was watching what s/he was drinking as she did not want to be drunk when Samantha showed up, which could be at any time so s/he nursed hir drink and waited for a chance to play,
When Keti won; Keir stepped up to Amila grinning widely, "So are you up next ready to defend your department Amila? Well Engineering is challenging, and you should never underestimate an engineer when it comes to a game played in a bar, we're well experienced." Reaching over s/he took three darts and handed them to Amila, "Let's take a couple of warm up throws and then winner takes on Keti, but you should know that most Engineers were born in bars, so please don't cry when I kick yer butt." The comment was softened by a sly wink. It was clear that Keir was enjoying hirself; and it was all in good fun. "C'mon Science show us what ya got." ==Tags==

"C'mon Science show us what ya got." Keir challenged. "Nope, their game isn't over." Amila shook her head. "Ameen's turn now. You boys playing 301? They've each got a few rounds to show themselves still. That was just a nice shot. They start at 301 or 501, and get points that work backward, and are trying to work their way down to zero," Amila explained as their drinks arrived. "Come on, Commander. Let's see what you can do!" Amila called out teasingly. She picked up her beer and raised it to him in a faux toast. ==Tags==

"Blue, science, all the way," Amila said defiantly as she put her palm on the table. "Clean him up, Keti!"
Ameen laughed at her enthusiasm, it was contagious to say the least. The China Whites shots arrived, and Morad took a second to drink one with the rest of the gang. "CHEERS" he joined in the usual celebratory chant before he one-timed the shot and slammed the empty shot glass on the counter as is tradition. "Good choice my friend." He said to Keti. "Thank you." "One of the greatest lessons I can recall for this occasion, she just happens to be a First Officer as well." Jukish said. "The most important part of anything is putting yourself out there, and don't get too discouraged when it doesn't work out." Morad contemplated these words for a moment. "Your second attempt might not work out as well, but still it was a good attempt." In his left hand Keti had the last dart by the tip, and he threw it at the Dart Board hitting the Bulls Eye. "When you put yourself out there it isn't always going to work, switch it up a little and sometimes the results can amaze you." Ameen watched as the two science officers exchanged high fives. First time playing... yea, right! Cindy, either you are loosing your sharpness or you just wanted to see me suffer... The FO glanced at the beautiful bartender and her big smile told him everything he needed to know. He shook his head. I'll get you back Cindy... you wait and see... "Indeed." Morad replied to him. "My old CO used to say something similar too. You can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket. It was about taking risks and chances in life... it makes life worth living." Keir and Amila were having a chat of their own. Then he noticed that she was addressing them now. "Nope, their game isn't over." Amila shook her head. "Ameen's turn now. You boys playing 301? They've each got a few rounds to show themselves still. That was just a nice shot. They start at 301 or 501, and get points that work backward, and are trying to work their way down to zero," As he turned his head to face her she call him about and raised her glass in what looked like a toast. "Come on, Commander. Let's see what you can do!" "301 I guess? But it's just a friendly skirmish really... We can make our own rules if you like. Make it 151 so you two can play sooner?" He looked in Keti's direction for confirmation. This time the FO changed his stance completely, and changed the darts from his left hand to his right. He meant business. His first shot landed just a couple of inches of the bull's eye in the 18s. The second just a little further, but still in the inner circle, in the 19 range, and the third one landed in the bull's eye. A little better... I think... I am actually not very good at this... "Is anyone keeping count? Cause I am not... " Morad laughed as he stepped aside and reached for his drink. == Tag all ==

Amila watched Morad walk up to take his turn with interest, though she was more interested in spending time with Morad at a function that wasn't work related than she was the game. She has not told anyone on board about her crush, and she was certain that she wasn't on his radar so she did her best to play it casual. As she watched the game, Amila did notice that the first officer's strategy was different than Keti's - Morad seemed to be going right for the bullseye every time.
Morad threw better than Keti the first round, so his comment while walking away from the throwing line was funny to her. "Is anyone keeping count? Cause I am not... " Morad laughed as he stepped aside and reached for his drink. Amila laughed too. "Yeah, sure you're not," she quipped before holding her hand up to him, offering Morad his own congratulatory high five. "Nice shot," she said, her smile lingering as she caught his eye while waiting for him to reciprocate the high five. After Amila turned away from the first officer she felt her cheeks flush, and tried to hide it by quickly directing attention elsewhere. "Come on Jukish. Time to turn up the heat. Science doesn't lose," she goaded. The beer she ordered was served in a tulip glass and she picked it up with both hands and took a drink. She didn't put her drink down right way, but held it out in front of her with her elbows resting on the glass cradled in her hands. This was turning out to be an interesting evening. ==Tag all==

==The Drunken Tribble Bar==
Darts was a strange game to him, but it wasn't too much different from what he was used to. The difference between the target practice with knives and darts was a few grams, the throwing style was different as well. The purpose was for a good time there, while at home the purpose was different. While they were celebrating the bulls eye, for that second everything seemed to come into focus. There was always something missing, he never really followed his own advice. He was set in his own ways, and never really adapted to any other new ways. There was still a part of him that could be in a room full of people, and still feel alone. Now here they were in a room in good times, and those times were coming to a close. "I think the three oh one sounds good, its my first time playing this game. I am pretty good at target practice, just never did it for points before." Keti was pretty impressed by the shots that the FO took, one of them was in the Bells Eye as well. This was a fun game, and like anything else the journey was always better than the destination. Everyone seemed to be having a good time at the Bar, and Keti was starting to relax more. As his demeanor started to loosen up a little, he didn't look so guarded. He put everything behind him that was bothering him, mostly the Bridge incident. To his credit Keti didn't offer an argument, and that went a long way not to compound things. Keti was drinking pretty slowly, and keeping it balanced. If his blood alcohol spikes too fast, he was afraid of what might happen. As he grabbed the darts Keti wrote down the points for both, Armeen was pretty good but this was more for fun. As he handed Armeen his darts again. "You are a good shots." Keti said, there was something on his mind but he didn't know if he should bring it up. ==Tag==
To be honest the Hermat Engineer had never actually played this game , but given hir past s/he was actually quite accurate with throwing weapons, which may or may not give hir an unfair advantage.
When Amila spoke up about the game; Keir blushed quite visibly. S/he was always running into Human cultural activities and end up putting hir foot in hir mouth. Keir turned to apologize, but the Science officer had already turned away. I am always messing up socially, maybe one day Samantha will straighten me out Keir then stepped away from the table to take a call from hir partner. Samantha was caught up in a last-minute briefing in Security and would join as soon as she could. Not wanting to embarrass hirself again s/he stepped a few feet back and watched the game hoping to not put hir foot in hir mouth again, and contented hirself with watching, and sipping hir drink. ==Tags==

The game was a new experience for him that carried a new set of rules, and a system of points. Each shot led to more points, and in the end none of it actually mattered. It was just a fun game with great company, and it was a learning experience for him. To have a good time with some new friends, let down his guard and just let things happen. If he was going to be part of this crew, he had to allow people in.
Just as Keti was about to line up his next shot, he swore that he seen someone. Shaking his head for a small second, Keti was about to take his next shot. It was at that second of release that it went wrong, it sailed right into the zero of the twenty. It was a horrible shot, but Keti didn't seem to care. At first he was very confused, but it was soon replaced with unexpected delight. A Bajoran women soon approached who stood about half the height of Keti, as they both hugged for a few seconds like they were the only ones in the room. "Commander allow me to introduce Aja my betrothed. Everyone would say she is the good looking one in this relationship." Both laughed a little. "Aja this is Commander Ameen, he is my First Officer." Aja smiled and extended her hand for a traditional hand shake, not a lot of people would like a stranger grabbing their ear. "Is the man with the funny hair here as well?" She asked referring to the past crew member. As Keti laughed a little. "No he is with another crew, and the hair style is something called a man bun. I don't understand why people like it, but we all have things that don't make sense to others." They have traditions that date before the Federation came into the picture, a few of them were good and a lot he didn't want to even think about. ==Tag==

Amila watched as an unfamiliar woman walked up and hugged Keti. It was clear to her that the two of them were more than familiar with one another. For some reason Keti had made a point to only introduce her to Ameen and not to her or Keir. Amila took a sip of her drink as she sat less than a meter away and was well within earshot of the introductions. She found herself rolling her eyes at Keti's joke. She turned to commiserate with Keir and noticed s/he was standing a bit off from everyone else.
Amila turned toward where Keir had stationed herself. "What are you doing all the way over there?" Amila asked. ==Tag Keir==

"Yeah, sure you're not," Amila laughed as she offered Morad his own congratulatory high five. "Nice shot."
He gladly gave returned her high five and their eyes met again. "Thanks." There is a strange chemistry in the air today... or it could all be in my head... As she was turning away from him, he thought that he caught a glance of her cheeks turning red. Nope... not just in my head... "Come on Jukish. Time to turn up the heat. Science doesn't lose!" She was called out to her colleague. The game continued on. Keti was getting better with every attempt, and Ameen had to push himself to keep up. Keti tried to keep score, but after a few other drinks those attempts just fizzled out and no one was keeping score anymore... the game was for fun anyway. "You are a good shot." The science officer said. "So are you bud! I'm having a good time here." Morad smiled at him. At one point, Keti was taking his shot and a Bajoran woman joined them. She seemed to capture his full attention. Enough for him to move closer to her and they exchanged a meaningful hug. Oh, a close friend perhaps... maybe more... "Commander allow me to introduce Aja my betrothed." Keti explained. "Everyone would say she is the good looking one in this relationship." Both laughed a little. "Aja this is Commander Ameen, he is my First Officer." "Indeed she is! It's a pleasure to meet you Aja." Morad attempted to be on his best behavior despite the alcohol running through his veins. He offered the newcomer a welcoming smile. "Sorry we had to take Keti away from you on that last mission. I hope we didn't keep him away for too long?" == Tag guys ==

Smiling at the First Officer, Aja wasn't worried about him being away or how far away he was. All she was excited about was just being there, and in the present. "Keti is is exactly where he should be, both of us are walking the path of the Prophets. No matter how far, for how long we are apart. We are always close were it counts." Patting his chest. "There is no distance that can keep us apart." Looking over at the ladies who were playing their own game of darts. "Now there is something I have to do. Walking to the other game, Aja recognized one from before the other through stories. "Keir good to see you again, I am not sure if you remember but we met once before." It was a long time ago, and their meeting was in passing. Turning to Amila. "You must be Amila, I am Aja." She knew her from how Keti spoke of her, the description was spot on but didn't do her justice. "The person who made his transition easier, and considering he doesn't really like change, it couldn't have been easy." Introductions were never what she was good with. "I am happy to see the improvements Arwen and you are helping him with." She looked at Keti for a second. "I didn't know he had a fun side before." ==Back to Keti== Watching her go over to the girls, Keti knew that she was going to do that. "She always was that way." Keti didn't get the other dart from the board, with the second dart going in the bottom of the twenty and the third going into the triple ring. "Commander I believe its your turn." He said while getting out of the way to shoot. ==Tag==

Amila had asked why Keir was standing away from the group, and was giving hir a friendly look when Keir replied, "Nothing I guess, just socially awkward. Maybe you can give me some pointers?" S/he moved towards the table, ready to return to the others.
Amila shrugged, "I dunno. Just be yourself. The cool thing about being in Starfleet is that everyone is from everywhere and are here to embrace different cultures and personalities," Amila replied. "There are going to be some jerks anywhere you go, but for the most part everyone here just wants you to be yourself." Amila was offering this encouragement when Keti's betrothed directed her attention to the table. "Keir good to see you again, I am not sure if you remember but we met once before." It was a long time ago, and their meeting was in passing. Turning to Amila. "You must be Amila, I am Aja. The person who made his transition easier, and considering he doesn't really like change, it couldn't have been easy. I am happy to see the improvements Arwen and you are helping him with." Aja looked at Keti for a second. "I didn't know he had a fun side before." Amila laughed good naturedly. She could be shy about taking complements, and she found making a light joke was an easy way to deflect the attention away from her. "I am. It's nice to meet you. I don't think Keti needed much help. I don't know if this is fun side or his competitive side. I think he just hustled our first officer at darts," Amila teased. Amila watched Ameen step over to take his turn at throwing darts. Without realizing that her attention was so obviously divided she gave Keti a smile as he walked over after his turn. "Is that what happened with your bogus throw? You saw the love of your life and got distracted? That's really cute." She was being sincere and not giving him a hard time about the throw as much as she was prodding into his personal life. ==Tags to all==

Watching Aja at work for a brief second, Keti forgot he was anywhere else but home. As he watched the interaction, Ket noticed how well it was going, then the attention was turned to him. "Is that what happened with your bogus throw? You saw the love of your life and got distracted? That's really cute." As the question was being asked, Keti started to blush, it was only slightly embarrassing.
"Yeah I have to admit that's what happened, I wasn't expecting her to be here at all." Keti took a first sip of his drink slowly that made him make a new face, he wasn't expecting the drink to be that strong. He did enjoy the drink, it was just different than the last. "She always was the love of my life, ever since the first time we met." Keti could picture them both as young teenagers, in class together when times were a little more simple.. Not by much, and the consequences could be higher at times. Keti figured out how to make things work back them, and now he was going to have to do the same here. "I know why she is here though, and I should have known this would happen." Keti paused for a second. "She is here because I messed up pretty bad on the ship, and the Captain didn't like my actions. My first time going on the Bridge, and it couldn't be worse." There was no one he was attempting to blame for this, instead he was using it as a learning opportunity. He needed to change things before it was too late, if he didn't change things soon it will be never. Aja spoke up again. "He sends me messages every chance he gets, and because of ships security I usually get several at a time." As she was looking at the darts on the board, Aja laughed a little. "Not very often he can be that distracted, glad to see I still have it." She joked ==Tag==

"Not very often he can be that distracted, glad to see I still have it." She joked. Amila's head tilted back as she drank the last of her spiced beer and put the glass back down on the table. "Well, the smart ones should know that if they have a beautiful girlfriend who is willing to surprise them on shore leave then they better give them a little extra attention. Am I right?" Amila said jovially, making the point to entire table. She had a feeling she knew what Keti was talking about with the Captain. There had been some tension on the Bridge at first, and she recalled both him and Commander Sothrick getting called to the Ready Room over it. Still, that was all very early in their first mission since being transferred from their previous assignment. "Honestly, Jukish. I think you're fine," Amila said as she lowered her voice a bit. "I wouldn't overthink it. Sothrick used to be your Captain. It was habit for both you. I'm sure the Captain gets that. It seemed to straighten itself out. And you're a good officer, intelligent. They lean on science a lot on Titania. It's a good place to be for us. There are a dozen other officers that could have been brought to the Bridge to help at the end, but Fields had you report back. I think you're fine." Amila may have been overdoing it on the reassurance, but she knew what it felt like to be insecure in your position. And it was true, after the chain of command situation was sorted, the earlier transgressions seemed to have been sorted. Amila resisted the urge to ask Keti his thoughts on his former Captain. Keir was part of that group too. Sothrick had gone out of his way to give her credit for contributions during the last mission, which she appreciated. Her first meeting with him though, something had seemed off. It was clearly an adjustment for him and his old crew to be absorbed on the Titania they way that things had landed. She'd figured that much out despite not being overly close with any of the new officers just yet. ==Tag back==

== Drunken Tribble ==
There were various meetings that Titania's Captain was scheduled to attend while they were docked. This was something she always dreaded. In fact, after months of living on the ship, Starbases were always disorienting. There was nothing relaxing about them in her opinion. But she had experienced so much drama on shore leave over the years that it was anything but leisure. Then there were all the masses of people wandering round freely, which felt to her chaotic - everyone on a starship moves around purposefully with somewhere to go or something to do. Perhaps it was old Security instincts kicking in, but she felt a undertone of hypervigilance intruding on her senses. Jane had time between meetings, so sought refuge from the busy promenade by darting into the bar, looking to find a quiet booth to hide away. On entering she immediately had second thoughts. There was bound to be crew in there. The last thing they would want is to see the Captain, as per usual, in uniform. She didn't want to spoil anyone's fun. Her eyes darted around adjusting to the lower lighting. There was a group playing darts and was that the First Officer with them? There was a empty booth to her right and she slipped into the leather seating. When a server came by she ordered a sandwich and a fizzy water and studiously examined the contents of a PADD. == Tag anyone ==

"Keti is is exactly where he should be, both of us are walking the path of the Prophets. No matter how far, for how long we are apart. We are always close were it counts." Aja said. "There is no distance that can keep us apart." She said as she walked over and joined the others...
"She always was that way." Keti said as he finished his turn. "Commander I believe its your turn." "Ah yes. Women can have that effect on us." Morad smiled as he prepared to take his turn and started throwing the darts. He couldn't help but feel a bit jealous of Keti for having such an anchor and stability in his life, but he was by far more happy for him then anything else. One day... maybe... The others joined again and the conversation turned more serious when Keti mentioned the small issue that took place on the bridge. "Honestly, Jukish. I think you're fine," Amila said. "I wouldn't overthink it. Sothrick used to be your Captain. It was habit for both you. I'm sure the Captain gets that. It seemed to straighten itself out. And you're a good officer, intelligent. To think of it, I had a few similar incident when I first moved from Pioneer Outpost to the Copernicus..." Ameen chipped in. "You will be fine my friend." He grinned satisfied in where his darts had landed then turned over the spot to Keti. "Last round!" He announced as he walked over and stood next to Amila, Aja and Keir. While standing, he noticed that the Captain was there too, catching up on some reading it seems. "Captain Fields is here. Should we ask her to join us?" He looked at his colleagues as he asked. I'm interested to see how they will handle this... == Tag guys! ==

Keir truly appreciated the act of friendship that Amila had shown to hir.
Being what s/he was; a Hermat; biologically and physically different from all of the normal physical species often made Keir77 feel awkward and apart from other races for whom Male and Female were separate entities. S/he never really spoke about it, more as a way to not make hir being hermaphroditic an issue when dealing with the normal binary races, and since most of those who encountered hir always assumed s/he was female was; from hir perspective a comfortable assumption. Following Amila's invite s/he returned to the area where the dart game was and nodded to everyone. Keti's fiancé was being introduced and a woman who looked vaguely familiar spoke up, asking; " "Keir good to see you again, I am not sure if you remember but we met once before." Being experienced now with social norms Keir offered hir warmest smile, "You do look familiar, perhaps you could jog my memory," but before she could respond; Keir nodded towards Keti and Aja, raising hir glass in toast, "If I may add my congratulations, that is wonderful news. I seem to have missed the details, perhaps I can catch up on that at a later time?" As s/he was thinking about what next to say; Commander Ameen pointed out a new arrival at the bar which s/he had also taken note of and offered a comment. "Perhaps one of us should go over?" and as s/he spoke Keir caught hir friend Amila's glance and raised an eyelid subtly nodding in the CO's direction, almost as if to say, Should we? ==Tags==

(This post was last modified: 03-16-2025, 04:33 PM by Amila Ra'an.)
Amila watched as Morad finished his turn at darts and walked back over to the table. "Last round!" Ameen announced as he walked over and stood next to them.
Last Round. Amila hoped that the game ending didn't mean that the first officer would be leaving soon after. She hadn't really had a chance to talk to him much, and now that the alcohol was kicking in, she was feeling a little more emboldened. She just had to think of something to say that wasn't work related, awkward, or too totally obvious. While she was thinking about what to say, Ameen mentioned that the Captain had arrived. "Captain Fields is here. Should we ask her to join us?" Ameen looked at his colleagues as he asked. Amila turned to look to see what Ameen was talking about, and spotted Captain Fields in a booth by herself with a PADD. While Amila was checking the situation out she was surprised to hear Keir be the one to mention that one of them should go over given Keir's earlier shyness. There was always the concern that the Captain would think it was inappropriate to fraternize with them. But if she didn't think that. If Captain Fields accepted their invitation and came over, it would certainly be a night to remember. Amila turned back to the group and nodded in the affirmative. "Yeah, we should," she said as she stood up from the table. Amila lifted her empty glass. "If the server comes back can someone order me another?" She then winked at Ameen before turning to Keir and tapping hir on the back. "Come with me," Amila said to Keir making a subtle gesture with head towards where the Captain was sitting. Amila felt a lot more confident approaching the Captain with Keir by her side, particularly since Keir also happened to be a department head. Not that it necessarily mattered in terms of how she got along with Keir, but it did help seem to bridge the gap between junior officers and command at this particular impromptu gathering. As they approached the Captain's booth Amila shot Keir a quick glance before speaking. "Excuse me, Captain Fields. I apologize if I'm disrupting your reading. We just thought you might like to join us. The first darts game is just about over, and it's pretty close between Commander Ameen and Lieutenant Keti. Could be anyone's game still." Amila waited for the Captain's response with some nervousness over how she might reply. ==Tag Fields== ==hijacking of Keir done with permission and coordination==

Keti listened closely as Amila was giving pearls of wisdom. "Honestly, Jukish. I think you're fine," Amila said. "I wouldn't overthink it. Sothrick used to be your Captain. It was habit for both you. I'm sure the Captain gets that. It seemed to straighten itself out. And you're a good officer, intelligent. They lean on science a lot on Titania. It's a good place to be for us. There are a dozen other officers that could have been brought to the Bridge to help at the end, but Fields had you report back. I think you're fine." One of his biggest failings was to overthink things, especially when it comes to times like that. Times change, and we must change with them. Keti thought to himself, and before he could think more Ameen gave more wisdom. "We were all going through a transition and getting used to each other. It is never easy when new crewmembers come aboard and learn to adapt. To think of it, I had a few similar incident when I first moved from Pioneer Outpost to the Copernicus..." Ameen chipped in. "You will be fine my friend." There was comfort in that, and Keti knew he needed be part of the process. Every healthy relationship required a bit of give and take, and that included him. He grinned satisfied in where his darts had landed then turned over the spot to Keti. "Last round!" He announced as he walked over and stood next to Amila, Aja and Keir. While standing, he noticed that the Captain was there too, catching up on some reading it seems. "Captain Fields is here. Should we ask her to join us?" He looked at his colleagues as he asked. The answer came swiftly as Keti watched the ladies leave to invite her to the gathering, Keti did hope she would and had a screwdriver drink sent over to sweeten the pot. The Screwdriver was the first drink Keti enjoyed, even though at first he had no idea it was alcoholic in nature. It was in his studies that it was customary to send a drink to gain some attention, or a token of friendship. It would be great to have a bigger group, and hopefully afford the opportunity for all to get to know each other more. Once they know each other personally, it will be easier to understand each other professionally. ==Tag==

Jane's arrival had not gone unnoticed and after a short time, Ra'an and Keir 77 made their way over to the booth she was sitting in. Interesting that it took two of them.
The Captain looked up from her PADD: "Excuse me, Captain Fields." Ra'an spoke. "I apologize if I'm disrupting your reading. We just thought you might like to join us. The first darts game is just about over, and it's pretty close between Commander Ameen and Lieutenant Keti. Could be anyone's game still." Jane smiled benignly. "Sure. Why not...if the Captain doesn't cramp your style." She joked, gathering her drink and sandwich and following them. "Greetings Gentlemen." She greeted the First Officer and Jukish. "Who's winning?"

"Sure. Why not...if the Captain doesn't cramp your style." Captain Fields joked, gathering her drink and sandwich and following them.
"No, of course not," Amila replied smiling with relief as the Captain accepted their invitation. Keir and Amila followed the Captain back to their table. As the Captain was talking to Ameen and Keti about their game, the server returned with the screwdriver that Keti had ordered for Captain Fields. Before the server left, Amila got the server's attention and asked what they might have that was lighter than the Orion beer she had just finished. The server went through some of their options and Amila ordered a hard seltzer and an appetizer to share then turned to the table. Trying to not be too rude as she interrupted the conversation, she made a subtle gesture with her hand, "Anyone else want anything?" She asked. "I just ordered chips and salsa for the table." ==Tags to all==

The last round of darts was about to start when the Captain joined in, Keti was extremely flattered by this. It was a social environment and Keti was slightly drunk, as a person who didn't drink much in his life it hit him harder. If it wasn't for his size, it would have been worse.
"Greetings Gentlemen." She greeted the First Officer and Jukish. "Who's winning?" The Captain asked just before Keti was about to start the last round. "Its a pleasure to have you with us, the score close enough where its anyone's game. Commander Ameen is a skilled opponent, if his aim stays true he will win this one." It was a good game that they were playing, it was equally friendly as competitive. "Anyone else want anything?" She asked. "I just ordered chips and salsa for the table." Amila asked before the order was taken to to the P.O.S. Keti piped up. "Yes there are a couple dishes that would be complimentary to that pallet, Hummus and artichoke dip." He did try some Salsas that were good, and some of them were a little too spicy. Salsa was not one of the spicy dishes he enjoyed, but knew others did. As he approached the line, Keti was remembering why he chose this game in the first place. It was a symbolic game that was a little less obvious, but it was there. One of them was the line on the floor, just like people there is that line that can not be crossed. He still used his right hand to make his shots, and after completion Keti was happy with the shot. Even if the best results for him was a tie, he didn't really care one way or the other. In the bigger picture regardless of points everyone won, and that's all that mattered. ==Tag==

"Greetings Gentlemen." The Captain greeted the First Officer and Jukish. "Who's winning?"
"Its a pleasure to have you with us." Keti replied. "The score close enough where its anyone's game. Commander Ameen is a skilled opponent, if his aim stays true he will win this one." "That's a big IF my friend." Morad chuckled as he nodded at the Captain. "I may have had one too many of those liquid courage stuff and the dart board isn't as stead as it used to be... or is it my aim?" He didn't really mean what he said, if anything he was known to hold his liquor well. But he figured the though was funny enough. == Tag ==

The statement about liquid courage wasn't one he heard often, and when he did it was in places exactly like that. There were also a few other things said that were limited to the location, and that left Aja confused about the statement. Where Keti had some amusement out of the statement, Aja didn't understand. While explaining it to Aja, Keti maintained an amused smile. "It's a common statement made in places like this, where people believe they are braver while in a state of intoxication. However what really happens 8s the state makes people think less of people around them, and belief they can do anything. Singing is the number one thing most people do, their greetings when approaching a new group is how wasted am i?" 5hen it hit him there was an introduction yet to be made. "Captain this is Aja, my Betrothed. Aja this is my new Commanding Officer Captain Jane Fields. She has been a big part of helping us with the transition, she runs a tight and efficient ship." For him that was a high praise. There was still work to be done so he could adapt, but there was still time for that. ==Tags==

She appreciated the gracious reponse. “Er thank you for the drink.” She hadn’t been intending to drink alcohol. "That's a big IF my friend." Morad chuckled as he nodded at the Captain. "I may have had one too many of those liquid courage stuff and the dart board isn't as stead as it used to be... or is it my aim?" Jane took a seat and placed her drink and sandwich down. “I heard you can only play drunk.” She quipped. Ra’an ordered food and Keti introduced a lady friend. Betrothed eh? “Pleased to meet you.” The Captain replied. “I’ve not played darts for years.” She was surprised it was so popular outside of Earth. “Is it only the lads playing?” She raised a quizzical eyebrow at the others.

Amila listened to the banter at the table as the Captain joined them.
“I’ve not played darts for years.” The Captain commented. "Is it only the lads playing?” She raised a quizzical eyebrow at the others. "Keir called dibs on playing winner. I'm just the pep squad," Amila offered with a smile. "Though, I suppose now we have enough people for proper teams." Amila shrugged and nudged Keir lightly with her elbow. == Tags everyone ==

It was true that the ratio of people allowed for two teams of three, he just wasn't sure how the teams would go. The only thing he knew for sure was to switch hands, his aim was better with it. The main reason for the switch up was he had a team this time, and he didn't want to disappoint.
"The only way it would be fair teams is if Aja and I are on different teams, her shot is just as good as mine." They both trained equally as hard at target practice, and they did it with both hands. The reason for this was there were going to be times when they wouldn't be able to use the dominate hand, anything from an injury to the hand and or arm to what the better angle would be. In a funny way this would be the only environment where going against the Captain wasn't a punishable offense, and where no matter win or lose they are both equally celebrated. It was also a team building experience for him, he just needed to keep a certain level of enthusiasm. ==Tag==

Keir realized that the discussion was going to drown out the start so s/he stepped up. "With the Captain's permission let's make this; relaxed."
S/he threw a surreptitious wink at the CO hoping she would play along; and went ahead anyway... "As, by far", the youngest person in this room I suggest we shake things up! Amila and Keir as the 'Kids' will take on Jane and Morad as the 'Seniors'. We will play a variant of around the clock where we alternate the teams each throwing starting at One and closing with 20..AND a Bullseye!. And to make it interesting Keti will maintain a timer ; each team will have a total of 10 minutes to complete the circuit and if the time runs out for a team, the one with the highest number achieved wins or if one completes then game over and They win." S/he picked up three darts and proffered them to the Captain, again with a sly wink; adding "You're up first Jane. Time starts for each when their first dart hits the board. You ready for this Keti?" S/he nodded respectfully to the Captain. "When you are ready?" ==Tags all round==

Amila tried to hide her surprise. Did Keir just call the Captain, 'Jane'? She felt like she was holding her breath waiting for the Captain to respond to Keir's challenge at darts, and the use of her first name, as Amila looked around anxiously for the server wishing that she had her drink.
Yesterday, 07:34 PM
There were many forms of this game that Keti wasn't familiar with, this was one of them. It was a different concept for him, a timed game that goes around an imaginary clock face. Ten minutes wasn't a long game at all, and that adds to the fun to the game. IN order for him to time this game, he was going to need a stop watch.
As there were many options available, Keti went with the one that had a clock face. It seemed appropriate for the occasion, it also gave him the chance to explain a clock face to Aja who has never seen one. The timer wont start until the time both teams were ready to start, at this time he was glad not to play. He would prefer to see the game first, and play it when he has a better idea about what was going on. "I am ready." He said while waiting on the game to start, it was an interesting time for him. Hopefully it would also lead to him having an easier time later, but that will be something he had to work on for himself. ==Tag== |
