== NRC Ensign Raven Singer, Engineering Officer ==

There had been a barely noticed hiss from the turbolift doors while the CO was speaking. When he finished, he saw a relatively unfamiliar sight. Raven was actually sharply dressed in full uniform and cleaned up as if prepared for inspection. The CO almost didn't recognise her at first. She was quietly waiting at parade rest position, reflecting that she could in fact follow proper military protocols when she wanted to.

Seeing he was no longer engaged with the communications, she spoke at the opportune moment, "Sir, I've prepared a detailed list of how their Engineering crew can best modify and prepare to receive our guests with as little disruption as possible. This allows them to benefit from our learning process and optimize the chances of success in the mission. The data transfers in question are prepared and I took the liberty of creating a copy for ourselves that includes in integrated EMH variant that is designed with Scientific emphasis, but it dedicated to analysis and classification of the data as an interface for us to use in independent research. The data was never officially classified or ordered to be kept exclusive."

She glanced down at her uniform and then looked back to the CO with a small grin, "I was uncertain if we might be having visitors and wanted to make the best impression possible. Contrary to popular belief, I can be a team player, sir. Please let me know if you'll be needing anything else."

Raven then waited to either answer any questions or to be dismissed. It was an interesting moment between the two of them. She was notorious for her past record of behavior that got her demoted more than once. She was equally famous for her skills at not only getting things done, but going above and beyond. Her service record reflected both a high level of experience and the reckless attitude off duty that did not hesitate to resist authority if it was out of line. She stood in front of him as what appeared to be a lowly Ensign, yet she had more experience under her proverbial belt than most commanders he could think of. She was a walking contradiction, yet it seemed to fit her like a glove. For anyone to remind themselves of it, they only needed to notice the small Māori tattoo under her bottom lip. She didn't look like it, but she could be a fireball.

It didn't take too long for Evie to answer. [Understood Captain I will do my best to send the information out quickest time possible.]

A few minutes later a follow up. [Standing by for transport, and information is being sent to the Medical staff as requested.]

During a break in the conversation, Molina advsed the Bridge that Science acknowledged the orders and would be preparing the module for transport.
Less that three minutes later Petty officer Molina reported from her station without looking back, "Science reports that that the data module is ready for transport on your orders, Sir."

Ameen listened to the comm system chirp as Doctor O'Fee’s voice filtered through the Bridge. [Standing by for transport, and information is being sent to the Medical staff as requested.]

"Understood, Doctor," Ameen replied over the channel. "Stand by."

He then turned his attention back to the young Engineering officer standing at parade rest in front of him. Ensign Singer was a walking contradiction, but her initiative in this moment was undeniable.

"Excellent forethought, Ensign Singer," Ameen said, offering her a rare, approving nod. "The integrated EMH variant will give our science teams an invaluable head start on analyzing the copy of the Genomic Ark we retained. Transmit your compiled data package directly to the Auberjonois engineering team."

With the ship fully prepped, Ameen turned his attention back to the main viewer, which now displayed the split feed of Captain Kincaid and Captain T'Kov.

"Captain Kincaid, my department heads report that all medical telemetry, environmental parameters, and the data module are fully transferred. The stasis pods and our honored guest are ready for extraction."

"Understood, Commander," Kincaid replied with a warm smile. "We have a lock on all twelve pods and the active subject. Energizing now."

Ameen watched his tactical console as twelve distinct energy signatures spiked in Sickbay, held for a moment, and then vanished completely from the Zephyr’s internal sensors. Apex Prime and the sleeping giants of the Broken Arrow were officially off the ship.

"Transport complete," Kincaid confirmed, her expression filled with professional respect. "We will ensure they find a safe harbor, Morad. Safe travels."

Captain T'Kov offered a single, stiff nod from the other half of the screen. "Your handling of the situation was... adequate, Commander. Starfleet Command will receive our joint report. Templar out."

The viewscreen blinked, returning to the starscape outside. The massive Akira-class cruiser and the smaller Nova-class science vessel broke their flanking formation, banking away gracefully before stretching into brilliant streaks of warp light.

The Zephyr was alone again.

Ameen let out a long, slow breath and finally descended the rest of the way into the command well, taking his seat in the center chair. He looked over at his steadfast tactical officer.

"Stand down to Green Alert, Lieutenant Powl. Take us out of here. Resume our original heading for Deep Space Nine. Warp factor six."

As the stars on the viewscreen stretched into the familiar, comforting blur of warp speed, Ameen leaned back. The space rescue was officially over, and they had survived to tell the tale...
