Starfleet Academy
Starfleet Academy's auditorium is a huge, bright, modern-looking space capable of seating over 500 people. The entire South wall is made up of windows allowing the sunshine in and an awe-inspiring view of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. On the other walls hang large painted portraits of Starfleet legends--the noble people who set an example for cadets and officers alike--including the likes of Jonathan Archer, Christopher Pike, and Kathryn Janeway. There are currently a few dozen beings of various races occupying the auditorium: some are talking in small groups and others just enjoying the view between classes. Most are wearing uniforms designating them as cadets at Starfleet Academy. A few are wearing the purple tunic that denotes them as Academy personnel.
Just below the stage is the admissions area; a long desk sits there with multiple computer terminals as well as two or more officers. At the center position is usually found Captain Maddie Allen, the Academy Superintendent . Newly arrived Cadets report to her for training holodeck assignments, where they will undertake the final portion of their four year academy training. The Dean of Evaluations, Commander Carrs Jasal, can be counted on for assistance as needed.
There is a queue of cadets at the admissions area, awaiting their turn to accept the assignment for their final examination here at Starfleet Academy.
== Welcome to Federation Space RPG and Starfleet Academy! We're so glad you've decided to join us.
Please make your first post below! The post should contain two things...
First, write an in-character portion describing your character's arrival in the auditorium. They have just completed four years at Star Fleet Academy and are waiting the assignment for their final examination. They should report in to the Admissions desk to the officer on duty for their assignment.
Secondly, you must read the Cadet Code of Conduct and the Federation Space Constitution. Include in your post an out of character statement that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these documents.
For example:
Cadet Davis entered the auditorium and tugged at the stiff collar of his uniform. Seeing the admissions desk and the short line of Cadets, he approached and waited to catch the eye of the officer on duty.
"Cadet Davis reporting for assignment sir!" He cringed at the volume of his own voice, hoping no one noticed the error.

Ava entered the Academy Auditorium to register for her finals. She like this large space, particularly the view out over the San Francisco Bay, an estuary that is nearly land locked except for a channel that leads to the Pacific Ocean. She took a good look around noting the Star Fleet ‘Saint’ as she like to call them, the notable officers of Star Fleet’s history.
Walking steadily towards the stage area she noted the line of cadets waiting for their holodeck assignments and final exam. Ava was confident as any Vulcan would be. Particularly because this even would symbolize the end or the achievement of the challenge she was given six years earlier. The voice of her mother’s challenge played out in her mind, as it had done many a time, over the last challenging six years.
“THIS HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH. YOU NEED LOGIC, V’VERIN! GAIN SOME DISCIPLINE! PLEASE, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE!!” and she did that over the past six year. Now was the time to put all that in the past and make a new life for herself as a Star Fleet Officer.
She stepped forward, Ava was now at the head of the line at the Admissions Desk, in front of the stage. As one of the officers behind the long desk moved towards Ava, she announced confidently and calmly to the officer “Cadet Ava Baldwin reporting for Assignment, Sir.”

Amelina smiled as she saw the approaching Cadet wearing Security colours, recognising her immediately as Baldwin reported in for her final examination. " Ah, yes, Cadet Baldwin, please report to holodeck one for your final examination, your instructor will meet you there".

(This post was last modified: 01-26-2026, 10:04 PM by Rowan Richards.)
Sunlight streamed through the immense wall of windows to the south, pooling warmly across the floor and catching on the edges of polished boots and starched uniforms. Beyond the glass, San Francisco Bay shimmered, the Golden Gate Bridge rising like a quiet promise; solid, steadfast, and impossibly distant all at once. Rowan felt it settle something inside him, the way it always did.
He smoothed a hand over the front of his uniform, more out of habit than necessity. Tall, broad-shouldered, and unmistakably Angosian despite his strikingly human appearance, Rowan bore the calm strength of someone who made others feel safer simply by standing nearby. His dark hair was neatly kept, his expression open and kind, though his eyes carried the unmistakable weight of reflection earned over four long years.
As he moved further inside, his gaze drifted to the portraits lining the walls. Archer, Pike, Kirk, Picard and Janeway - faces that seemed almost alive in the light, watching the cadets below with approval, challenge, and expectation all at once. Rowan offered them a small, respectful nod without quite realizing he’d done it.
Around him, clusters of cadets chatted in hushed excitement or stared silently at the view, savoring what might be their last quiet moment as students. Rowan smiled easily at a nervous Andorian passing by, offering a gentle word of reassurance before taking his place in the queue at the admissions desk. Even now, on the cusp of evaluation, his instinct was to steady others before himself.
When he reached the front, he straightened with natural confidence, and met the officer’s gaze with warmth and sincerity.
“Cadet Rowan Richards,” he said clearly, voice calm and resonant, “reporting for final examination assignment.”
Whatever awaited him in the holodeck, Rowan did not fear it. He trusted in preparation, in people, and in the quiet belief that compassion and courage were not opposing forces, but partners.

Feeling refreshed and reenergised following a short vacation, Amelina was back where she belonged, not only assigning holodecks to those about to take their final examinations, but also seeing them through them whenever it was her turn to do so. Sometimes it still felt as though she was on the other side of the desk, awaiting her fate and what the next chapter would bring, although in truth that now felt like a distant memory, knowing that her path was to always lead her to this moment, to pass on her knowledge and experience, and she enjoyed every second.
Looking up as Cadet Richards approached and reported in, the brunette senior instructor and acting dean offered him a warm smile, before checking where he needed to be.
" Please report to holodeck one Cadet, your instructor will meet you there".

Medical Cadet

To say he wandered in would be an understatement. Tes walked in like he was pulled by a string, leaning forward a little like if you were to pull that string upwards, his vertebrae would line right back up. His right antenna twitched slightly, soon followed by his left. Everything about the tall lanky man was twitchy, from the way his head was on a tight swivel, staring at the other cadets there, which he saw as much more competent than he, to the way his long legs moved on the floor towards the desk. It would be a fair assumption that the anxious Andorian had drank a couple Raktajinos before arriving.
He smoothed back his already-slicked back white hair, sliding his light blue hand between his antennae. His hands were the only part of his body that were still and steady.
Nevertheless, he made his way over to the desk, still glancing at the other cadets. Humans, Vulcans, Bolians, other Andorians, they all looked so confident in what they were doing. It made Tes a little uneasy. He felt somewhat embarrassed, insignificant, like a major third chord, which he was still finding a way to work into his newest piece. He found his mind wandering back to the voice leading he had chosen for it, but mentally smacked himself and focused again on the desk ahead.
Once at the desk, he straightened himself, perhaps overcompensating and turning his spine into a “C”. Nervously, he corrected it and went fully vertical again. Even his antennae straightened. His lips twisted into a small smile.
“C-Cadet Tes Th’etellis reporting for Assignment, Sir.”
He then mentally scolded himself for making a fool of himself in front of a Starfleet officer.
Wow Tes, he thought, what a first impression!

Once Richards had left, Amelina turned her attention to the Cadet next in line, offering him a reassuring, warm smile as he spoke nervously. She understood how daunting this could be, before she consulted the schedule once more and responded to him.
" At ease, Cadet Th’etellis, please report to Holodeck 2, your Instructor will meet you there".
