Commanding Officer
USS Artemis, NCC-110000
== The Strategic Operations area of the USS Artemis is located on Deck Three. The walls and carpet continue with the typical Star Fleet colors beige and gray with any workstation / console trimmed in faux chrome.
The Strategic Operations Complex is a combination of offices, conference room space, study space, and workstations.
On one half of the complex, one can find the Strategic Operations Director’s office separated from the First Officer’s secondary office and the Chief Tactical’s office by a large conference room. This Conference room has a large round table for meetings.
On the other half of the complex, is a large open area with tables and chairs. There are workstations specific for the Communications Officer and a Master Access Panel here. In this area there are also two simulation rooms to be used for continuing the maneuvering understanding of the Artemis in specifically designed and controlled programs. ==

<<Briefing Room<<
Miles sighed heavily as he sat down in one of the empty chairs in the larger conference room, setting the small stack of PADDs that was his final workload prior to launch on the table in front of him. Before he picked up the top of said stack, he rubbed his eyes, going over everything that had just occurred in the Briefing Room. It was well and truly a mess, and the new Command structure was definitely going to take some getting used to.
The thought of the Command structure also hit Miles. With Coleman's arrest, what was the plan going forward for the now-vacant spot? Would they quickly send someone over before launch? Would they have one of the more Senior Department Heads step up in Acting capacity? The most likely candidate for that would have been Elias, but that wasn't an option. Mayfair and Miller had just made Lieutenant Commander, so they were viable options. Then there was the full Commander who was filling the Chief Engineering spot.
Would they thrust another newcomer onto the crew as another Command level position that the crew would need to follow? The headaches and questions would continue to pile on, but Miles had no say in it's resolution. He had made peace with that, and instead turned his focus to what he could control: the pile of PADDs in front of him. Picking up the first one, he got to work.

==Near launch?==
It had not taken Miles as long as he thought it might to finish up the workload he had left prior to launch. He was able to submit the schedule and send notifications to his Department in a decent time. Schedules had not been affected for the next couple of shifts, so no one would need to adjust immediately, and he had given those who would be affected down the line ample time to adjust as needed.
Once he had finished, he had gone for a late dinner before heading to his quarters to rest and get some sleep before scheduled launch time. He had set his alarm a little early so he could swing by Strat Ops and field any questions or concerns from his Department, and to make any last minute checks, before he headed up to the Bridge for launch.
With his rank and position having been updated in the files, and him now wearing his full pips for this shift, he had received congratulations from the few who had come through and seen him, or who had run into in the interim. He smiled his thanks and set about doing what needed to be done.
Feeling confident that everything was in place, he noted the time. He had some time to head up to the Bridge well before launch, so took his leave from Strat Ops to do so.
