"Sounds like we have a plan", Aeryn remarked. " Not to mention different places for us to visit, without having to leave the ship". A familiar look crossed her face before she continued, " I'll see if I can tempt Beka to join us".
Aeryn's genuine warmth was a comfort to Hallowette, who had felt a gamut of emotions since she had come aboard, but one had recently gnawed at her more than others. She had readied for the first bit of her tenure to be somewhat lonely, but Hally was very much a people driven person, and she remembered all too well the times of her life where she was somewhere new, or fresh to a program. The empathetic hybrid was prone to melancholy when she was faced with an extended period of social isolation, and while she wasn't quite there yet, she had become aware as time wore on that staying busy and learning her new job was only going to keep her content for so long.
Seeing Robin, while not a close friend...or even an acquaintance really, had given her a much needed dose of happy. Chatting with Aeryn and feeling welcomed into not only the crew, but given a of a glimpse into her life and the people important to her, meant more to her than she realized. She promised herself she would be worthy of her new friends trust.
"That would be great! Beka sounds like a wonderful person." answered the young Tactical officer.
With that the kind CSO shifted the conversation. " I don't know about you, but I could use another drink, maybe some dessert".
With the mention of further libations the Trill/Bajoran hybrid perked up in her seat, her nose pinching into the Bajoran ridges that lined the bridge of her nose. "Oooh dessert. That DOES sound good." She peered past Aeryn and Lucy at the replicators. "Lessee..." She said with a laugh, "These milkshakes have looked soooo good, but I think maybe some sweet pudding would hit the spot..." She then turned her teal eyes back to Miller, "I absolutely might be wrong, but I think I recognize your accent as being from the...northern part of the United Kingdom on Earth? While I was at the Academy, there was a pub that we would visit in a little town called Dunfermline. I used to get a dish called chranachan. It used a berry native to Earth that was so delicious." She narrowed her eyes and eased the last part of her words gently, "Anything you might be familiar with?"
