Satisfied by her visual assessment, Rubicon went through the motions of her physical assessment, making sure their airways were clear. While her tricorder scanned away, she reached first for Celcis. She could feel a steady thrum-thrum-thrum of the officer’s pulse against her finger tips. It’s steady beat told her that Celcis wasn’t in critical condition, which meant she could move onto J’dara. Again she carefully placed her fingers to their neck and counted out the beats. There was a short flutter in between some of the beats, which gave her pause, but it’s unusual rhythm was steady enough she assumed that J’dara must have a minor heart murmur or something similar. If it was serious, then the tricorder would let her know.
They both seemed steady enough, so she went back to the tricorder.
A moment later she got her results back on Celcis. Though her tricorder wasn’t a full medical one, its scans were enough to tell her that Celcis would be fine. If she had to make an informed guess, Rubicon’s diagnosis would be numerous contusions related to a sudden impact. Luckily Celcis hadn’t fallen awkwardly, so Rubicon felt confident there was no emergency here. Without a proper medical tricorder she couldn’t give a full diagnosis, but Celcis wouldn’t be in immediate danger. She set her tricorder onto J’dara, then helped ease Celcis into a more comfortable position, carefully lowering his head to rest against the floor. He started groaning, which was an even better sign that they were coming back to consciousness.
“Easy does it,” Rubicon said softly as she changed tactics and eased him into a seated position. She felt a presence lurking over her. Rubicon mostly ignored it so she could continue with her ministrations.
“If it’s more than cuts and bruises, best ship them back to Artemis. Comms and transporters are workin’ fine and we got a whole department full of interferin’ lunatics in teal that can take over,” Callaja said to her.
“Aye,” Rubicon acknowledged. Neither was in crisis, but they would certainly have some killer headaches once they came back to full consciousness. If she had a medkit on her she would have given them some acetaminophen and neuro stimulant to help take the edge of, but….. but. Her tricorder chirruped again. Rubicon looked at the results for J’dara. Similar results—contusions and some inflammation expected from being caught in a blast—and some side effects from weapons fire. Rubicon didn’t think it was serious, but she would definitely want to get J’dara in front of a proper medical scanner as soon as she could.
“Wh-what happened?” Celcis asked, rubbing their eyes and sounding hung over.
“You got caught in a rather big boom,” Rubicon replied, snapping the tricorder shut, and stuffing it back into its holster. “You’re going to have a splitting headache for a bit.”
“Are you sure a shuttlecraft didn’t land on my head?” He asked, a crooked grin filling his lips.
“Nope, not sure. Need more proof,” if he was cracking jokes then he was definitely feeling better. “You and J’dara should be okay. Try to stay awake, and keep an eye on your partner until we can get you out of here.”
She stood, tapping her commbadge and informing the Artemis that she had two low-priority transports that needed to go to Sickbay. Then she pulled out her weapon again and motioned to Bance. “They will be fine until transport happens. Shall we?”
Bance gave a nod, and the two of them joined up near Callaja and the rest.
