Mara’s blood was still pumping from a heavy workout as she wandered into the lounge, even after a shower and a fresh uniform. Her tunic was slung over a broad shoulder, heavy muscle tone shifting under the bare caramel skin of her arms as she headed over for another round of breakfast.
The Security Chief was starting to be a regular at the lounge. Her towering physique called for a constant stream of calories and she’d started to make the effort to get out of her quarters and be more sociable, in the hope that maybe the rest of the crew would find her a little less intimidating to talk to and she could hang out a bit more. Those who knew her well knew how little edge there was to her when she was off-duty but her inner circle was still very small, and most of her time was still split between the gym and the Security office.
Could prob’ly do with makin’ a few more contacts Calleja thought as she accepted a steaming hot mug of coffee and a plate with two heaped bacon sandwiches, nodding her thanks before looking for somewhere to sit.
Dark eyes caught sight of where the group of officers were sitting. Aeryn and Robin she knew, the others less so.
Ah sure. Aeryn will almost certainly have the intros done before I can even find a chair, knowin’ her.
There was a wry smile on the COS’ face as she made her way over.
“Hey up,” she said with a nod of greeting. “Room for one more?”
