Aeryn had to admit that this wasn't how she saw this evening going. Despite accepting it for what it was rather than what she hoped for, she remained quiet as Beka realised about the glass of cola. It was becoming apparent that the mood Beka was in wasn't going to go away anytime soon, wondering what had gotten into her, and whether she could honestly deal with it for the rest of the night unless she found a way to chill. Aeryn doubted that her usual tactics would work, and if they did, whether Beka would be receptive to them. Okay, their relationship had its moments, but nothing compared to how the doctor was acting right now.
" It's okay it happens," she said eventually as Beka apologised, part of her wishing that she had poured a bigger measure of whiskey, a thought that quickly disappeared before Beka continued, giving the CSO an explanation as to why she was acting the way she was. It was a lot to process, and just when Aeryn thought she had started to figure it out, Beka said something that made her pause, as if she hadn't heard her properly.
Her first thought was, really Beka, you want me to find someone else? Would it be that simple to just throw away everything that they had just because Beka was in a sour mood? There had to be a proper reason for this, as up till now she had never said anything about being unhappy with Aeryn or maybe Aeryn was reading too much into this. Either way, it had completely thrown her, as she looked at her girlfriend with a serious expression on her pale features, whiskey forgotten as she spoke.
" Beka, I wish I had an explanation for you, but I don't, and to answer your question, no, I've never thought of it like that. We don't see each other as much as I'd like to begin with, but we knew that because of what we do. I do get to be me with you. You've shown me that I can be after everything I went through before. I'm not about to find someone else and I can't believe you suggested that".
Her temper had already been pushed to the edge due to Lucy and sheer ineptitude, but this felt like something else entirely.
