Keir allowed hirself a brief chuckle at Amila's reaction. "What's the matter you afraid of killing someone with these?" s/he asked jovially, and winked.
To be honest s/he was both surprised, and if s/he thought about it; proud that the Captain had 'let her hair down' and joined in the fun. The Hermat had always preferred a more relaxed and collaborative approach to hir interaction with hir shipmates and fellow officer. Certainly while there were times when lives were at stake that protocol normally aided getting through the challenge.
While s/he was getting familiar with the balance of the darts s/he grinned at the two senior officers. "I suppose you are not aware of much detail of my early years and we do not usually talk about, but it was both challenging and life threatening. The first 3 years are spent away from adults where the young 'prove' themselves. Imagine the worst and you might come close, and while I did survive, which is not a guarantee , I did pick up a few skills along the way."
And without any further conversation s/he pivoted, and focussed briefly on the board and in VERY rapid fashion, threw....
hitting the center of the 1 and the 2 but the third appeared to be a centimeter right of the center of the number 3 in the doubles ring.
S/he then handed hir darts to Amila and nodded to the FO "Well Morad I guess you are up."
S/he grinned for Amila's benefit and took a sip, smiling as s/he spotted Samantha arriving.
