"Ah... yes. Good then!" Morad said, sounding happy to Amila. "On to the game..."
He didn't sound or look like a senior officer who was planning to give her a lecture later. Maybe she wasn't in trouble at all. Though the thought did little to quell her anxiety as she wondered what else it might be about. She was in a bit of a daze as Ameen scored the next three numbers needed. He was a good shot. She was not. But even if her teammates kept making up for her slack, it was still a long way until twenty, for both teams and a long time for her to wonder what it was they were going to be talking about. For a brief second she let herself imagine that the walk might be about Ameen having a crush on her too, but she quickly passed it off as wishful thinking. Whatever it was, the unknown was killing her. Earlier she hadn't wanted this time in the bar with everyone to end, but now it was like the game couldn't get over quickly enough.
When Ameen walked back to the table she smiled again, a little more shyly this time. "You're pretty good. You all will have to teach me how to actually throw those things sometime."
"Keti, you're up. We've got some catching up to do. Sorry about that." Amila shrugged sheepishly as she apologized. "I believe in you though!"
