<< Science Complex <<
The sight that welcomed Aeryn as the lift doors swished open was one that the CSO remembered all too well. Only this time they weren't investigating a missing ship that had been found or going head-to-head with the Cardassians who had kidnapped Captain Crawford. That wasn't the only difference from when Aeryn had assisted Damian as Acting FO, and so it did feel a little strange to not see her friend and mentor sitting in the center seat. Pushing those thoughts aside, Aeryn stepped out onto the Bridge properly, taking in everything, from who was manning each station, and their new hopefully temporary FO in charge.
Aeryn acknowledged those who looked her way, the situation becoming much clearer now that she was there, including her friend Hally, who was busy coordinating a shuttle team from her place at the helm. Rather than just stand rooted to the spot, Aeryn carried on toward the science station where Lucy was sitting.
" I thought you could use an extra pair of hands," she said by way of explanation, rather than drawing attention to the fact she had sent a message to Devereaux. There would be time to talk about that later, as the CSO took over Science 2 and brought herself up to speed with what was happening.
The tractor beam was shot but Aeryn knew that would be down to engineering to deal with, not envying them as she imagined how long it would take to fix. However, it seemed as though a solution was in play before she refocused on the sensors and the probes that had already been deployed. " Am I right about the gap that's happened between us and the probes? I can see that we're still in comm range, but there's an unreadable space between the edge of their zone and what Artemis can see".
Again, this could be rectified if Artemis moved back, but that would need some coordination.
