==At the mysterious door...==
On 3, the door swung open. It was eerily silent; the freighter may have been run down, but someone had made sure that the door, at least, was well maintained. On the other side, , it was just as quiet. There was no one present, and no cargo stacked, either.
Instead, the two walls of the narrow corridor were lined with chains. One chain ran the length of the room, at least thirty feet, and about waist high. Another chain ran along the floor, about two feet out from the wall, and there was a gap of about ten feet between the two chains. The gap had a well-worn quality, as if it was walked frequently. Every three feet or so, there were sets of manacles on both chains.
Fortunately, the manacles were currently empty, but they all showed signs of being extremely well-used. There was dried blood visible on several of the closest ones.

For lack of other options, Captain Givens reached down and powered up the console, her tricorder out to watch for any errant signals or other problems and her fingers poised over the off switch just in case. Fortunately, her tricorder didn't detect anything in any band being transmitted, though within the nebula it would be difficult to transmit to anyone that wasn't already close by. And her gamble paid off, as she soon found out exactly what the console was for. It was an Identify Friend/Foe system.
And it was Dominion.
