== Deck 6 – Sensor Maintenance ==
Papaver returned to consciousness after a few minutes. The pain in her head felt noting like she'd felt before. The blood from her wound had spilled onto the deck before it had coagulated and matted her hair, blocked her nose, and glued her right eye shut.
Breathing gingerly through her mouth, she took even longer to try to sit herself up. A task made harder when she sporadically began coughing sending more waves of agony through her head. There was a tang of something in the air that she couldn't make out.
The sensor maintenance room was generally unmanned, so she had been alone. Taking her time, she tried to remember how she'd ended up in this state. Then she recalled the red alert.
“Computer.” She said between breaths. “What happened.”
The computer voice replied instantly. Chipper and too loud as ever. [Explosion Deck Seven. Plasma Fires Detected. Aeroshuttle Launch Bay.]
Her first thought as she listened was how much her head hurt. Her second was that she should be doing something to help. But at this point, she could barely help herself. She was probably no more that twenty feet above the incident. Which would probably explain the odd taste in the air. Were fumes from the fire seeping their way upwards?
Raising her hand up to her comm badge, she intended to contact sickbay, but instead her need to help others over road her own preservation. “This is Papaver to...” She wasn't sure who to talk to.. She assumed that Jadris and his engineers would be leading the repairs. She coughed again. "To Jadris. I'm above the shuttle bay on deck... cough... Six. Is there any way I can help?”
