== Well, the last month hasn't been fun. Time to get back in the game. ==
T'Lari's natural suspicion (some among the Vulcans would call it Romulan paranoia) was set off by the Wairaran ship's behavior. The suspicious (in her mind) explosion didn't do much to help. A ship approaching at half impulse with shields up called for shields in return. That was, after all regulation. And it was exactly the wrong move in a first contact mission. Unlike some of her people T'Lari wasn't the sort to quote regulations to a Captain, and she remained silent and awaited orders.
But that supposed paranoia had served her well in the past, and it was best to take nothing for granted. Their escort seemed curiously uninterested in the fact that there had just been a significant explosion aboard the Yeager. There was no evidence of concern, no offer of help, no queries about status. Even the most dismissive Vulcan would have made a mild inquiry if any assistance was needed.
The half-Vulcan watched her station's readouts very carefully, passive sensors only of course, resolved to be ready if the Wairaran ship made any hostile moves.
