They were on their way to the boat when Morad turned to face her just before they stepped onto the gangway. He took both her hands, his gaze locking with hers. Amila listened expectantly.
"Seriously though, Amila," he said, his smile softening. "Tonight? With you? It's... amazing. I walked into this date hoping for 'good,' maybe even 'great.' But this?" He gave her hands a gentle squeeze. "This is blowing 'great' right out of the water... pardon the pun."
She giggled and shook her head playfully. "Your pun is hereby pardoned," she replied with mock authority, before turning serious again. "This whole evening, with you, it's been really amazing." She looked back at him, the energy between them throughout the evening had been building in little moments like these, occasionally interrupted by a turn of shyness or a distraction in the program.
She shifted her weight to the balls of her feet and took a deep breath. "Are we... " She trailed off when she realized she didn't know how to finished the sentence, but her eyes remained locked on Morad's. Should she say something?
