The officers might have returned to their duties, but it didn't stop Petra from noticing the arrival of Petty Officer Bobb. It also didn't prevent the Black Forest native from giving Maguire a subtle look, as neither officer liked to ignore anyone's presence, especially when it came to the friendly Bolian, who always brought them tasty pastries and other delights whenever they were busy, and couldn't stop by the officers lounge or Ten Forward. Sometimes, Petra wondered if Bobb had a second sense, knowing exactly when sustenance was needed, even more so during a long shift or even now when the ship was still at red alert.
" Always Bobb," Petra quipped, a hint of her German accent still present even with the translator's assistance. Both she and Owen listened as Bobb showed fake contemplation with his usual hint of playfulness, adding to their previous conversation regarding the Chief. If he had managed to hide it from his spouse, then Maguire was certain it must be some good stuff, and once the question was asked, it was Owen who answered first.
" You had me at Brandy, Bobb," Owen said playfully, before Petra followed. " Me too, although I think we should hear more, while we both have something to eat and drink".
" Agreed, I think we've both earned a small break while we wait for results and further information," Maguire replied.
After all, Aeryn always encouraged breaks whenever possible, and despite the precarious situation the ship was in, it wouldn't do anyone good if they weren't at top efficiency and sufficiently fuelled.
