==Frick I’m so sorry I left you hanging! Definitely didn’t mean to!!==
Ian had breathed a sigh of relief; it was one thing to have confidence in what you were doing, it was another for the plan to come together and work perfectly. He had cut off a fuel source for the fire, and therefore, prevented it from spreading to the rest of the ship via its internal conduits. The practical fires were still burning, but Ian had put the potential fires out before they could be started.
A young female voice called down, calling herself Papaver, and Ian could only look at his boss with a clueless expression. He hadn’t learned anyone’s names yet, with the exception of Jadaris and Cassidy, but he was still pretty certain that Papaver wasn’t in the Engineering Department. Even so, the Gorn was quick to give her instructions, and then praised Ian for his hard work.
He could only nod as he was given his next order: the simple task of watching the temperature gauge of the fuel cells. They could flux up, they could flux down, they could flux side-to-side… wait, no, that didn’t make sense…
Ian missed out on the first part of what Jadaris was relaying to the Bridge.
“...but she may need some medical assistance. Emergency response team is on-site, and Ensign Elliot has rerouted EPS power around the damaged section, but we are monitoring the aeroshuttle fuel cells.”
Ian beamed to himself as he was mentioned by name.
“...give you another update if things get worse, or we get the fire fully out and its cause determined.”
He did want to find out what had caused that great big hole in their hull.
“Aero’s fuel cells seem to be good now,” he told his boss, “And I think Security’s getting the fire under control. Fires. I’ll - I’ll keep looking, of course.”
