[Ameen to all USS Titania personnel newly assigned to the USS Zephyr. You have your transfer orders. Rendezvous at docking port seven immediately. Prepare for imminent departure. Ameen out.]
Powl had just completed the medical procedure for his ailment. While perfectly functional, Krynar mind probes had left scars. But, it seemed that one scar had fully healed today. Torok regained quite a few experiential memories and knowledge previously locked to him due to the scarred cerebral section. There was also a significant reduction in the...noise. Since all of the numerous surgeries and appointments he had over the course of years once returning from the Krynar, there was always a background white noise that couldn't be silenced and required more effort from him to suppress. The volume got turned down on it quite a bit as a result.
While the picture of a Vulcan expressing emotion would certainly be strange, but the relief that was present for Torok was so immense that an unknowing onlooker would report that he may have been the Vulcan equivalent of "giddy." Although the Vulcan version is far more subdued than that of a human or any other species in which emotions are emitted regularly rather than suppressed, it was there nonetheless.
Torok brusquely found his was across the promenade and to the dock for the Zephyr per his summons. At this time, he had only just then found out about his new assignment. Typically he would have done considerable research and investigation to ensure that he was an expert on the ship prior to boarding. However, this time, there was no time. Not only had he just undergone treatment, but he had just learned of a new assignment, and it was onboard a completely unfamiliar vessel.
Strange, that we are moving ships whilst not being able to preview the layouts and situation. What class is the Zephyr? I will need to learn quickly on arrival...
He found the docking ring assigned to the ship, and from the outline that was used as the emblem to represent the ship, it appeared to be similar to the very old Steamrunner class vessels. Certainly a big change in direction from the Titania...but more like the Copernicus...
This situation just went from out of the ordinary to bizarre. Why would the Federation begin a NEW crew in such an old ship and so urgently? What is my assignment for this vessel?
Having more questions than answers now, he proceeded through the docking ring to the bridge courtesy of the LCAR ship guide. Powl had never seen nor been aboard a Steamrunner, so the construction and layout would be completely unfamiliar. Finally, after what seemed a decent hike, the bridge came in to view and he walked in. Commander Ameen was already in command chair.
Where is Captain Fields?
Without further delay, Powl walked over to place himself in front of the command chair at attention.
"Ensign Torok Powl reporting, as ordered, sir."
