"...For now, I can live with a little bit of boring while the crew settles in on the ship."
Powl nodded as a gesture of acknowledgement of a point well made. Not that he necessarily agreed with the hyperbolic statements made to indicate that the definition of "wild" had been misplaced in the case of Lt Ra'an's use of the phrase. Rather, he made an adequate observation that the lack of anything extraordinary in these circumstances with the crew as green as the were, was not necessarily a bad thing to have at the moment.
"And same to you. The Commander is right to hold such high regard for you."
Torock turned his attention back to Lt Ra'an and again nodded politely as to thank her for the compliment. But, from the look of it, there was naturally the Vulcan confidence that his education and training up to this point had adequately prepared him. Further, he believed his work ethic to be sufficient to the task; but there was always going to be a memory of his time with the Krynar that would pop up to make him think a little longer about his assessment of the grand scheme of any situation presented. The recent procedure performed on Deep Space 9 had been a success...after a little bit of hiccup. Nevertheless, it allowed him to tap into a good deal of knowledge and experiential memory previously presumed inaccessible and lost due to the damage from the Krynar neurological probes.
"I will certainly, put forth the effort to make your statement honest and his confidence well placed. Regarding raktajino, Dr. O'Fee ordered me to abstain from any and all sources of caffeine for at least 144 hours. I will have to join you on that note at another time."
As soon as he was beginning to look at his research again, another officer made their way on to the bridge. Given the proportions, seeing a Security uniform certainly would have been fitting...or not. The uniform seemed to complain and protest with each step. But instead of security, it seemed there was a new Medical officer on board...perhaps a doctor?
“Midshipman Emery Tyris-McEntrye, reporting for duty.”
Fascinating. Several new officers mixed with experienced and long tenured. Such a diverse crew on an unknown mission, but functioning well per Star Fleet training protocol.
