== NRC Lt Shavokh, Vulcan Surgeon ==
The team was in place and there was no time to waste. The dark hair of the Vulcan surgeon was pulled back and secured under a surgical cap in perfect regulation manner as she began her quick briefing.
"We have a male human with a typical battlefield injury that presents as a direct hit from a plasma bolt from behind. Scans indicate minute residual metal fragments from the projectile, but they are not of immediate concern. External soft tissue was cauterized on entry with penetration diminishing to terminal point at lower chambers of the heart. There is a large portion of the 5th rib that appears to have been vaporized and the exact extent of the damage to the heart is yet to be determined. Life support is in place and we'll need to isolate the heart from the circulatory system with bypass and artificial assistance while repairs are attempted and work our way out from there. Unfortunately, a primary concern is the brain functions. For that, we have a cybernetic consultant on hand."
With a nod to Cindy, she stepped closer and picked up where the Vulcan had left off, "Unidentified medical implants are the current source of highly irregular brain activity. For security purposes, the frequencies it is operating on have been isolated and I've set up a limited isolation field to filter and contain those frequencies. We don't know what those implants are trying to do yet. I'm attempting to establish if they are trying to help our patient or if they need to be neutralized. His brain functions are my priority. If we can't salvage his consciousness, then the rest is for nothing. I'll let you know as soon as I finish my analysis of their programming structure."
Lt Trask then reported, "Everyone stand by. We're dropping the stasis in 3...2...1..mark."

== GM Input request: What (if anything) can be determined about the medical implants? Are they attempting to help him? Are they malfunctioning? Is it possible to disable them safely so they might be repaired? If the patient is intended to die, we 're prepared for our efforts to fail, but it won't be for lack of trying. Cindy is a synthetic chassis, housing a unique program, linked to encrypted networks. She has assisted Talion in his research for roughly the past 20 years, including the writing of software and evaluating experimental cybernetic systems for use with humans, specializing in prosthesis and artificial organ replacements for those that are unable to have their own regrown or transplanted. Artificial organs can be replicated easily and she has the designs available, if needed. Thanks. ==
