The life support functions of the bed should serve to help stabilize the patient, but I would not use it to revive the patient, as the stimulation could cause a surge in the connection. We should be able to resynchronize the signals once we're able to ready to return him to consciousness. There is even a chance it might reset on it's own, once the effects from the energy surge of the plasma weapon diffuse more."
Looking over the scans, she offered, "Given the extent of damage, I am going to recommend the implant of an artificial heart at this time. It will at least give time for him to heal from the other injuries and allow a conversation about other options. I'll begin replicating one now. It should only take a few minutes. It is the latest version approved for use in human subjects by the Federation. Implantation should be pretty standard, but I can answer any questions you might have about the procedure."
