Aeryn smiled when Hallowette agreed to teach more about Trill language and society as a whole. However, before she could respond, Robin re-joined them at the table, complete with a tray of delights. The different smells felt intoxicating to Aeryn, and while she had already eaten, she wasn't the type to be rude, and besides, she could handle a couple of wings and maybe a taco. Hally immediately went for one of the spicy ones, which Aeryn thought was impressive as someone who knew how to handle spice, but perhaps not tonight, considering what she had eaten so far. The CSO understood her body, and if she wanted to get some proper sleep, then she would avoid anything too spicy and make up for it next time.
" I can handle Hasperat and some other spicy stuff, but maybe not those tacos," Aeryn added jovially when Mara told Robin that she could keep the extremely spicy tacos and why, copying the Security Chief by grabbing a wing as Hally spoke so positively about the danger tacos. She understood the Middie's love of spice, having been introduced to Bajoran cuisine and adapting to the enjoyable differences, which added to her expanded culinary palate thanks to growing up at the research station. The conversation then turned back to languages, thanks to Mara's perfect execution of Klingon, her views on the Trill language, and the question that arose from what was said.
Listening as she ate her wing as politely as possible with such messy food, Aeryn's interest and knowledge expanded, happy that she was included in such an interesting and valuable conversation, one that had started when she and Hally shared information. Their new friend's insights were appreciated, and hearing about her father's first CO sparked something within the redhead. The religious connotations aside, it allowed Aeryn to think about what her view would be.
" This Captain Baker reminds me of my first CO, and as for my beliefs, I've always known that there was something else, some kind of higher power, rather than one specific god, and I guess that's why I'm open to other possibilities, and keen to learn about other cultures".
Hally then asked Robin and Lucy if there was anything they wanted to share, and Aeryn gave them the same attention while she finished her wing.
