The sensor buoys were proving their worth as the data Aeryn was looking for began to pour in, just as the CSO became aware of Hally's presence just to the left of her. Having her close by rather than having to call the information over to the helm made Aeryn smile softly as she analysed what had been provided to them. When Hally spoke, Aeryn understood the flow of her reasoning, as the probes confirmed that the density of the nebula prevented the use of warp, before the pilot asked a couple of questions regarding something interesting amongst the probes' findings.
" Yes, you're correct, that is a combined turbulence/ion trail that the probes have picked up," Aeryn replied softly. "And by the looks of it, we've caught it just in time, as it's already started to dissipate. So, if we want to follow the trail back to the heart of the nebula, then we'd need to do it now before we lose it".
Of course, it wasn't a decision or order that Aeryn could make, despite her increase in rank, which meant that she would have to defer to the FO, and given her proximity to the centre seat, she hoped he would have heard her. Still, Aeryn did her due diligence by turning towards the Commander to ask the question.
" Commander, given what we now know about the freighter and where it might have come from, I recommend that we return to the heart of the nebula before the ion/turbulence trail is lost".
Aeryn knew that it would be quicker to take the ship, but it also meant potentially leaving the q'OH behind along with the away team while they investigated this new lead. Another thing to take into consideration as she laid out the facts, not envying the FO at all right now.
