After sharing, Hallowette was content to listen to her new friends speak about themselves and their upbringings, their spirituality, as well as their interest in other species cultures and languages.
The auburn curly headed girl sat happily, chuckling at jokes, and emoting empathetically when she sensed some small pain or reluctance to go further into something difficult.
The group of women were certainly eclectic - born literal worlds apart, though even the ones who had grown in similar human cultures were uniquely different - and it reflected the true nature of Starfleet's strength.
Unity within our differences. Acceptance. Tolerance. Growth.
So many species cultures were wracked with xenophobia, or even bias within their own cultures. The UFP, to it's credit, and despite the sheer MAGNITUDE of its bureaucracy, truly was more than the sum of its parts. From the incredibly diverse Humans to the stoic and gruff Tellarites, and everything in between, all benefited from one another. As the great Vulcan Philosopher Surak had said...
"I am pleased to see that we have differences. May we together become greater than the sum of both of us." Hallowette whispered a bit too loudly as Robin spoke. Her face flushed red, the embarrassment plain to see on her pale and freckled face.
"Uhm, sorry, I was just thinking about how much I love this gathering - Please don't let me interrupt." Hally eked out as an apology. "Uhm, it seems like I'm in the fine company of fellow linguists!" she said, trying to cover her outburst by directing things back to the conversation.
