“Do we know the frequency of the anomaly in relation to the ionization bands?”
“Not sure about the frequency, but now's a good time to check. I’m sure our sensors have plenty to work with. It’s just a matter of separating the signal from the noise.” Replied the Doctor, but before they could continue their discourse further, the voice of the Commander came over the comm.
[Jensen to Cassidy. If you can spare Doctor Ellis, have him meet me outside Aeroshuttle Bay]
"I...may have overheard that commo, Chief.” Said Ellis stepping over to them. “Just tell me where to go brother, I'm your man."
Cassidy replied to him, and the other man left leaving Papaver and Cassidy together to prepare the inoculation.
“If we set the scanners to emit a pulse toward the anomaly at a specific rate, it should bounce those beams back toward us on a time-dilated frequency. We should be able to tune that to calibrate the inoculation, right?”
“Yeah...” Replied Papaver. “If x-ray and gamma radiation being normally outputting in the hundreds of nano-meter range, chronometric ionization is going to be somewhere in the -21st power, so we're looking at the zepto-meter bands.”
She'd read some papers on it, but certainly would never call herself an expert on the subject. And since, if she understood their current circumstances, they were heading toward the radiation source at near luminal speeds, they, she and Cassidy, had better become the experts.
== Yeah, I got nothing. ==
