"Ensign Powl," Ameen said, his voice sharp and focused, "I want you personally overseeing this transport from your station. Monitor the inbound beam for any energy fluctuations or signature anomalies. I want to know the second anything seems out of place. No surprises on this, Ensign."
Powl heard the instructions and absorbed them. Everything about this particular assignment seemed to carry a wisp of mystery. Something that remained unspoken or unknown to some parties involved. It was if this mission were to be Top Secret, and yet the mission parameters and overall design did not carry with it that level of concern. While the painstakingly careful construction of negotiated terms were tantamount to furthering a little bigger slice of peace in a tumultuous galaxy; the galaxy would not end if these two planets still wouldn't see eye to eye after this summit.
"Aye, sir. I will see to it."
Powl understood his assignment, and decided he was going to give the same level of attention he would if the aforementioned scenario was hypothetically possible. On a separate screen, in addition to his current readouts of the Zephyr, he loaded the readouts of the scans of the inbound teams to watch them in real time as the transfer was to take place. Specifically he was searching for any anomaly, power fluctuation, signal blip, atmospheric echo, or anything out the usual occurrence of a transport of a 136 year old diplomat with a symbiote.
Although a transport was fairly menial task and relatively low risk for this time period, there was still a risk. The weight of the responsibility of the mission was bearing down heavily on the green crew. As the Torok awaited for the transfer to begin, the emotion level and tension was palpable on the bridge. Normally very calm and level headed individuals seemed to be experiencing elevated respiration and pulse rates.
Getting the ship out of spacedock is one thing. Managing a mission with a high value person is quite another.
"Ensign Powl, can you notify me when Mediator Kestir is safely on board, please."
"Aye, Lieutenant." And Torok decided to add something. He sensed the baited breath of the crew and decided to contribute to hopefully provide a calming and reassuring statement. "I am monitoring the transfer in real time on my readouts here."
He wasn't sure if it would have any affect, but it was an attempt. The unbalanced emotional variation experience by other species sometimes perplexed him and he didn't truly comprehend what would or would not ease the situation.
As he was finishing his evaluation the transport had begun.
"Transport has begun, Lieutenant." Shortly thereafter, per usual operations, the transport was complete. "Transport complete, Lieutenant."
==GM Input: Are the systems involved in good working order prior to transport? Any readings as Powl is observing the transport?==
