==Sorry, GM! I'll try not to let it happen again, GM!==
[Use whatever you need,] the captain replied. [We've found the ship's trail and we need to get moving after it so use whatever resources and personnel you need to get this done as quickly as possible.]
"Aye, ma'am," he said, and got to work. The first thing he did, once Han arrived to assist, was call for batteries to be beamed over, and got a shuttle on its way to the nearest docking port on the freighter. Fortunately, that was right outside of the bridge, at the fore end of the cargo bay.
"Alright," he told the ensign as the transporter hum faded. "Test the battery packs, make sure they're fully charged, and get them over next to the console." He picked up a hyperspanner and started towards the console as he heard Ardanna speak up, offering assistance. "We're okay for now," he told her, "but we may need a couple of hands when it comes time to manhandle this thing to the shuttle." That said, he got to work.
Disconnecting the device from its mounting points wasn't a terribly difficult proposition. Klingons weren't known for their care and precision when it came to technical matters, after all, but they had at least seen to it that the device wouldn't go flying as soon as the ship got into combat. He had just gotten the last of the bolts removed when Han finished getting the batteries tested and ready to be installed. With a few words of encouragement, he helped her get them in place, and a quick tricorder scan showed that the device appeared to be running through them - taking power from the batteries while the mains recharged them, just like they were supposed to function.
"Alright, then," he said to the room. "Moment of truth." He reached for the EPS tool and, with a twist, disconnected the power from the console, and prayed to the Prophets that it would still work.
==GM Input: We didn't break it, did we?==
