Amila stepped out of the way as Commander Ameen walked into the command center, though she remained nearby as the Captain called the crew to attention. She sensed that both he and the first officer seemed more on edge than they were when they had left a few moments ago and was eyeing them carefully as she listened to their next steps. The science officer wondered what she was missing. The mission hadn't changed, and it seemed premature to her for them to be overly concerned about a change in hosts for the Kestir symbiont three weeks ahead of negotiations.
"Lieutenant Ra'an," Amila noted that Ameen paused for the briefest moment before continuing with her instructions. She listened intently as he went over her roles in the preparations for the dinner. She nodded enthusiastically, her mind already buzzing with ideas to keep the briefing on point. Professional and Starfleet, but she wanted to try to accomplish that with a bit of flair given what she could glean from C'had Kestir's personality over the briefly open comms.
Amila smiled and nodded at Ensign Powl when the Commander announced that they would be working together. It was her signal to him that she was looking for to it. She'd always found him more than amenable, friendly even, if he'd accept that compliment. And one of the most efficient officers she'd had the pleasure of working with during her time on Titania.
Once she saw Ameen settle in after giving the helm officer his orders Amila went to approach Commander Ameen. She was approaching the task with enthusiasm, it was something different, but she felt up for it.
"Commander, I do think reworking the menu is in order. Considering how one's sense of taste works from a physiological perspective, I doubt we can rely on any of Aed'na Tlapo's preferences. I think a full service buffet with a wide variety of options from the two worlds as you suggested would be a good option, and maybe highlight some key dishes at the table. I think I have some ideas - not just with food, but with the briefing as well. But, if we're pulling this together for tonight I should get to work. Given the uh..."
Amila paused as she looked for the right word. "Youthful spirit we heard over open comms, I'd like to bring more energy to the program than what we originally had planned. Still professional and Starfleet of course, I understand the assigment." Forgetting to check herself for a moment, she flashed him a smile.
==Tag Commander Ameen==
==Tag for GM Input: Can you give Amila any information for this briefing, key cultural points as she was ordered - specifically any notes of contention or conflict to be thinking about? But she will also be looking for interesting and/or entertaining points from their cultures to try to make the briefing something more than a dry presentation. Are there music, dance, literature, customs, etc. that could be highlighted and perhaps worked into an entertainment element of the briefing/dinner party?
Also, are there any food dishes from Veld and/or Taveres that should be highlighted? (If it is typical Human, Betazed, Vulcan, Bajoran - any favorites among the planets?)
Thank you, GM-06!==
