Lieutenant Ra'an was happy to have Commander Ameen's encouragement to move forward on additions to the VIP dinner plans. She was excited for the opportunity to hopefully impress their guest at dinner, or at the very least provide a few hours of moderate entertainment and good food. It was important to her that this mission go well. Regardless of whatever it was that was going on with her and the Commander, she believed he deserved this command and the best that they all could give him. It was also her first assignment as a senior staff member, and even though the assignments she had volunteered for weren't calculating temporal loops, she did feel that she was good with people and had something to offer.
She could sense the concerns regarding changes in plans around the new host - and Amila had to admit the personality that they heard over the open comms was not what she had expected when they were preparing to entertain an elderly woman. However, Amila had always been able to adapt pretty quickly to changes, and she enjoyed a little excitement every now and then. She also enjoyed a lively dinner party, and it seemed from what little they had been able to glean over the open comm channel that C'had Kestir likely would as well.
She had started to walk over to coordinate with Lieutenant Jukish regarding Bridge coverage for the next few hours as well as their holoprogram project when she heard the communication from Sickbay that caused her to pause and listen to the recent development, and Ameen's subsequent orders.
He then addressed the bridge at large, his voice leaving no room for doubt. "Mediator Kestir is being escorted from his quarters to Sickbay for an urgent medical evaluation at Doctor O'Fee's request. All departments are to prioritize any requests from Medical until further notice." He paused, then looked to his senior staff. "Commander Keir, Lieutenant Ra'an, we will proceed with preparations for the dinner on the assumption Doctor O'Fee can stabilize the situation. Continue with your planning."
Amila waited a beat to make sure that she wasn't speaking over anyone and then offered some encouragement.
"I'm sure it's just precautionary. I doubt that the authorities at Trill wouldn't have been in such a hurry for us to be on our way with the Mediator if there were any real risk with this particular joining," she suggested. "And we were already preparing for a worst case scenario." She nodded soberly, though encouragingly. Though, they were both maintaining an elevated level of formality on the Bridge since Ameen had taken command, Amila was more comfortable speaking freely in his presence than she was for their first couple of days on board the Zephyr.
Though the science officer did recall something about a three to four day window now that the medical officer had mentioned it, still, symbiont lives were too important for them to risk. It would surely be fine.
"I'm sure that once Dr. O'Fee clears him our guest will be looking forward to some good food and company this evening." Amila added. "The staff have likely already started their preparations, so I'll head down now go over some possible changes with them, with your permission, of course."
