The bruises were suitably impressive... and numerous. Nothing beyond modern medicine, of course, but just evidence of a hard and dirty flight aboard the Klingon freighter.

“OK. So we sent over 3 teams. Bridge team took a batterin’ ‘cause the enemy were waitin’ for them, and one of them went berserk and wouldn’t go down. Someone called him He-Mara and when I find out who that was, I’m gonna give ‘em a power wedgie down a turbolift shaft,” Mara joked before carrying on.

That got a laugh out of the nurse which she tried to stifle and failed. "Make sure you take pictures. I'll wanna see that." More seriously, though, it backed up what the CMO had gotten from some of the wounded. She was irritated by it, though. Of course they were waiting. They were Klingons. One of her most experienced doctors had gotten a broken collarbone out of the whole mess, and one of the Security team had barely survived.

"Engineerin’ team got the jump on their enemy so wrapped that up quick. I went with the cargo bay team, thinkin’ that’s where the fight would be ‘cause we had shielded containers and it was a smuggler ship. Enemy had the chance to dig in but it didn’t save ‘em. We lost a couple to a lucky hit on a vat of moonshine, but other than that, took ‘em all down and found that hidden slave compartment, half of which is now in your medlab."

Well, that explains the wounds. That must have been a heck of a fight.

"Shielded containers weren’t anythin’ major, except for the one that had a Star Fleet officer in. Ex-Artemis too. Nathan Ramius. The name mean anythin’ to you?"

Apparently it did, because Robin swallowed wrong and had a few seconds of harsh coughing before she got her voice back. "Ramius?!?"

Oh crap. Beka's not going to like this.

"Apparently he got history with Sydesh, which endears him to me straight away. He’s up on the Bridge now with the Cap’n.”

"Yeah, you could say that." She coughed again.

Smooth, Mayfair.

She wondered how much to say, and decided not to go into details, even though her reaction was probably giving away far more than she wanted. Her mother would have had some words words with her about social etiquette. Mara and Beka had a mutual loathing going on that they seemed to be very comfortable with, but Beka was her best friend and she didn't want to give the Security Chief any ammo.

Besides, Robin had mixed feelings about Ramius. He'd seemed friendly enough at first, especially after Robin had gotten the drop on a Kazon that had been pointing a gun at him. But during his time onboard he'd apparently missed the Artemis scuttlebut about her, and hadn't had any idea she was an Augment... and he'd been deeply involved in the incident with the two traitor Augments back on the Gettysburg. Whatever had happened had left a mark on him. She hadn't spoken with him since he had found out, and he'd transferred off soon after. Did he have a thing against Augments? It wouldn't have surprised her one bit, and he would have hardly been the only one in Starfleet to feel that way. Between that and the breakup with her best friend his presence wasn't exactly welcome.

The nurse passed the regenerator over her friend's torso, upping the power level a bit to hasten the healing. It would ache a bit more, but for a shorter time and would get the CoS ready for action much quicker. She didn't feel the need to mention it to Mara; she'd been hurt far worse and the nurse knew that a little short term pain meant nothing to her. The ugly purple bruises faded rapidly as the Bandaran's system processed the blood at an accelerated rate.

"I'll let Beka know after she's out of surgery. Save us an incident where he shows up in Sickbay and we have to call you guys down here." She gave a light laugh. "Which I know you'd enjoy entirely too much." She finished the last bruise. The biobed didn't indicate anything else of concern. "OK, you're all set. You can hop down. The ache shouldn't last more than a few hours unless you're planning on doing a strenuous workout or beating up some more poor defenseless Klingons." She grinned. The latter wasn't outside the realm of possibility. Besides, they were slavers. As far as she was concerned they deserved whatever Mara and her team dished out.

"Most of your people should be out of here shortly. K’Deela’s going to be off the list for at least three weeks, though. A month would be better. She'd gonna have some serious rehab to do with her arm and her lung capacity will need at least that long to recover." She paused. "Thanks for letting me know about what happened over there. And I'll contact you if anything more interesting shows up in the samples and autopsies."
