Not fully understanding the intricacies of chronometric science, there was a pause between Papaver's final words and Cassidy pointing out there was someone eminently qualified aboard who should have their answers.
“Jadaris,” Said the Doctor into his comm, “You mentioned spending some time inside a temporal anomaly cloud. How much do you know about chroniton radiation?”
Papaver froze briefly at the mention of the name. But he wasn't in the room. She relaxed. Then the voice came back over the comm.
Closing her eyes, she forced herself to listen as the Gorn engineer detailed what they needed to do. Each word a metaphorical scratch on a metaphorical blackboard.
It took her a moment longer to realise the channel had been closed as the CMO said; “Let’s see if we’re being hit with any of those chroniton clouds yet. They could be passing through our shields right now, for all we know. Then we’ll see if we can synthesize a serum with an inverted signature.”
Being naturally pale, Cassidy might not have noticed that the scientist was even more pale. She felt it, that was for sure.
“Yes.” She said as her focus returned. “Uh, so we, er, need a way to detect the particles and manufacture an aerosolised antiparticle. And distribute it through the ship effectively before it strikes us. Tempus... Frangit?”
