The Tricorder readings initially gave nothing away. The system that had exploded had seemingly done so spontaneously, either as a result of faulty components or poor maintenance. Given that half of the ship was old-Yeager and half was nu-Yeager, neither could be counted out. It didn't explain how the explosion had caused the EPS rupture, though, as the system was isolated from the main grid and had its own power supply for that exact reason.
Then the Tricorder beeped. Something was not right.
There were traces, barely detectable, of Cabrodine. The traces were also scattered across the bulkheads, including the site of the EPS rupture, but were concentrated around the fuel pump.
Even a greasemonkey like Elliot would know that Cabrodine wasn't something that got somewhere 'accidentally'. It was an explosive used in many applications, including but not limited to the demolition of buildings when mixed properly with Infernite. Older ships from various star navies also used Cabrodine as scuttling charges.
The amount of Cabrodine used and the collateral damage it had caused told anyone familiar with explosives one thing; the saboteur was an amateur. They had used too much to disable just the Aeroshuttle, and too little to cause serious damage to the ship.
