>> Bridge >>
The door to the briefing room slid shut behind them, enclosing Commander Ameen, Commander Keir, and Doctor O’Fee in a pocket of quiet away from the bridge.
The room was pure Starfleet function. No fancy wood paneling or huge observation lounge windows like on a Luna-class. Just a heavy, dark gray metal table bolted to the floor, surrounded by about eight sturdy chairs. A large display screen dominated the far wall, currently dark. It was a no-nonsense room for a no-nonsense ship.
Ameen walked to the head of the table and gestured to the chairs. "Please, have a seat."
Once they were settled, Morad looked directly at his Chief Medical Officer, his expression serious. He folded his hands on the table in front of him.
"Doctor," Ameen began, his voice calm and even, "you said on the bridge that we have a 'conundrum' and that parts of your report were best kept off the official record. You have our full attention. The floor is yours."
