Hallowette listened as the Captain parsed what she had been given, and her chuckled comment, "Welcome to my life, Midshipman." both made the hybrid Bajoran/Trill blush and smile.
The Captain's job to take all of this information and somehow use it to unravel the mystery before them was staggeringly impossible. Hally had considered the massive stakes inherent in Command, but the reality of just how REAL those stakes were now took her aback. She didn't begrudge the Captain this decision, and being on the Bridge gave her new perspective into the career she had chosen - all of the ships crew had chosen. Lives, morality, and everything the UFP stood for weighed on one woman's shoulders. The Captain.
"Alright...Maxas-Darl, are there any blind spots in the turret system? Doesn't matter how small at this point. And if that system dates back to the war, how well has it been maintained? Well enough to fend off a runabout or two?"
Hallowette immediately got to work. She knew that the information required a precision scan, one that even older systems were likely capable of detecting. She realized though that the Vesta class ships, and the Artemis in particular, had extremely advanced sensors - she only wished she had more experience with them.
No time like the present Hals... she thought to herself.
"Initiating scans..."
The idea to use Runabouts as blockade runners was a novel one. No need to risk the ship if they didn't have to - though in the back of her mind she wondered if some of the rumors about Captain Crawford were true. She was known to be rash. To be bold. To jump in consequences be damned. This line of thought seemed to belay that reputation. Hally silently wondered why...
As the scans concluded Hally's brow arched high in surprise as she heard Robin's soft accented voice give her report. Clones? Cardassian leaders? Vorta? What are renegade Klingons doing with illegal clones of Dominion War era VIPs?
==GM INPUT: What does the more in depth tactical scans show? Does Hallowette's experience flying shuttles seem to suggest a possible window or ability to slip through the grid? Are the scans detected?==
