The scan display reported back its findings within seconds, and Hally smiled despite the seriousness of the moment. She continued to be impressed by just how capable the Artemis was, even something so simple as a sensor scan pressed home that this was no training vessel, and she was no cadet.
As the data scrolled by she did as she was trained and segregated the most relevant parts, inquiring where more data was needed, and querying more precision when required. After a surprisingly short amount of time, she felt confident she had the answer to the Captain's questions.
The boyish tactical officer turned in her seat, for the first time really meeting the gaze of the veteran CO, "Captain Crawford, sensors show that the platforms are online and functioning, but they definitely show their age. The three that we can detect carry functional weaponry, Polaron beam emitters that are consistent with the Dominion War marks, as well as torpedo launchers. It does appear though that the munitions stocks for each are severely depleted - barely 20 torpedos per platform - not insignificant, but perhaps only 5% capacity. The Bird of Prey appears to be a long patrol ship, and there is no further evidence of cloaked vessels in the area..." She glanced back at her console to ensure her data was accurate before looking back at the Captain, her uncertainty at exactly how much more advice the Captain would want from a distinctly junior officer caused her to pause, but she ventured on, "Sir...if I may offer my tactical analysis..."
She bit her lip slightly, part of her wishing a more senior officer had been tasked with this, the spotlight on her suddenly feeling very hot and bright.
"Sir the Artemis is capable of taking on and defeating the threat of the platforms..." she continued her briefing, her voice taking on more confidence as she continued, "We will have to be deliberate, of course, but if we are able to disable even a single platform - that's the gap you asked for...otherwise..." she thought for a moment, her mind referencing all the information on the bridge, "Barring the possibility of the IFF code working, I...I don't believe a runabout will be able to go in unseen without the intervention of the Artemis."
