The ship rattled and rumbled as it left the anomaly and approached the temporal rift, engines straining with the effort. There was a moment when everyone around the Aeroshuttle Dock seemed to blink at the same time, and then things were...different.
The corridors looked similar, but of an older style. The damage caused by the explosion was gone. The uniforms each wore had also changed; they all now wore the black-and-grey of the late 2370s. All of them were armed with Type-2 Phasers, the curved style favored in the late 24th century.
None of them retained their own faces; where Elliot had stood was now a muscular Orion. Jensen had been replaced with a burly Tellarite. Radley, Bandit, and Stripe had been replaced by a Benzite, Denobulan, and Deltan, respectively.
From futther down the corridor came the ubiquitous whine of a transporter, followed by weapons-fire. It was a sound none of the officers present would have heard except in training; that of a phased polaron weapon. The type carried by the Jem'Hadar.
The footfalls on the deckplate indicated they were coming this way.
