Simulations in the academy had gotten much of the tone of a bridge strategy session right, but it was the minutia and detail that had felt different. She reckoned it was the difference between professional and seasoned officers offering advice and options, as opposed to green as hell, or overly confident cadets trying to emulate how they *thought* it was supposed to sound.
Hally had offered her assessment and opinion, and sat quietly awaiting the Captain's decision. Mara's suggestion of using a tactical insertion by Runabout had piqued her interest given it was something she had trained on as an advanced pilot candidate. She wondered who would chosen to fly them and how that might go, but it also turned her stomach slightly to think she might have to be a part of the assault team. Her father was a bonafide war hero, one who became a Chief of Security on a Federation Starship. Her mother an intelligence operative with who knows what kind of combat experience. For Hally though, given her genetic 'curiosities' and slight frame, up close and personal combat wasn't something that had any draw whatsoever.
As she heard Svennson's voice come over the comms from the Security Complex, she noticed a change in the atmosphere regarding the insertion. Mara seemed more relaxed with the idea of a transporter strike, but something told Hally that Mara would have been happy with either one. The COS seemed eager to get a plan together, likely due to the action on the qoH' and the desire to finish this mission strong.
Aeryn was the next to speak up, giving Lucy a degree of affirmation as she again brought up that the probes were available if they could be integrated in an organic way. Hally wondered internally if Aeryn missed being part of away teams and tactical security combat. In the short time she had gotten to know the Science Chief she still had a hard time seeing the easy going and empathetic woman as a Security Officer, but she supposed for every Mara or Pearson (who she had met a few times and thought was overly braggadocios) you had to have an Aeryn or Ardanna (who seemed nice, even if she didn't really know her).
In any case, the Flight Control officer sat evenly, watching over the sensor data and awaiting further orders. Ship combat of some form was likely in her future, and she was strangely calm, prepared and ready to go on the Captain's orders.
