The communication channel connected, revealing a Riani male with a lean muscular frame.
[Morning, Reddington. You can call me Chencko. My buddy Pax actually serves in Starfleet, in case you know him. General Alukh woke me up for this, so it must be important. I’m the only Riani doctor who’s ever operated on a human before, other than whoever did this hatchet job on your ambassador. I imagine that’s why you need me.]
Chencko rubbed his eyes, swiping through Jonas’s medical data.
[Actually, ‘hatchet job’ might have been too harsh. This is decent work. Shame we can’t find the doctor who did it. Good quality cyberware, too. Human brains and Riani brains are pretty similar, structurally speaking, so they didn’t bother to mod it. Unfortunately, human brains lack one of the key enzymes that’s critical for memory formation in the Riani brain.
I think this thing would have broken down on its own eventually, but the phaser shot certainly didn’t help. I doubt it’ll turn on again unless you either synthesize that enzyme or mod it to play nice with human physiology. He’s your patient, so it’s your call.]
Chencko kept the comm line open, ready to assist.
