“Hard to say what good it will do, though,” Sighed the Bolian Cassidy after a moments thought. “Even if we treat the effects of the anomaly on the crew, we’d still be stuck on this version of the ship, at this point in time. I hate to say it, but our time might be better spent getting this place ready for casualties.”
Maybe it was the Klingon hormones beginning to take effect, she didn't know. But for the doctor to just give up like that didn't seem to be like what she'd seen of him. Angrily, she brought down her Klingon fist on a small equipment table next to her, leaving a sizeable bend in it and scattering its contents onto the deck.
“NO!” The sound startled her. It probably had a similar effect on that blue skinned petaQ. She closed her eyes and calmed herself.
“What if, we're not in another timeline. What if this." She gestured around at everything. “All this is simply a mass temporal shared psychosis. We are still ourselves after all...”
Only just...
“... What if it's only the temporal echo of what happened before, made real from the memories of what we learnt during training, and none of this is real? Even if there's the slightest chance that we can snap the crew out of this, it might be enough to weaken any gestalt temporal hold. Everyone and everything would revert back to where we should be. And then there will not be any need to prepare for any casualties at all.”
She gave Cassidy the best, confident smile she could. Considering it was snaggle-toothed.
