People began looking around, aware that they, too, were not as they had been a moment ago - the way they were supposed to be. Some walked with the awkwardness of a new body, unable to properly control their limbs; others were pointing at each other, pointing out the new differences. Art was able to use this and calm herself, taking a deep breath and focusing herself on the task at hand.
“Here, Chief.” Alden replied, as the klaxons and auditory warnings went off. She moved closer to him, moving cautiously, getting a feel for how her body apparently worked now. Figuring out why she was suddenly Betazoid was a problem for later; Jem’Hadar would not care about such biological problems. They operated on one order: have warm body, will shoot. “Orders, Chief?” Alden prompted her.
“Secure the area.” She said before the words have even formed in her mind. Her combined Klingon and Security training took over: make sure the safest area is secure, and then patrol for friendlies, take them back to safety, and eliminate anyone else. “If you so much as see anyone scaly, shoot first and ask questions later.”
Art had the sudden thought that if they had changed, did that mean the possible Jem’Hadar boarders may be crew, as well? Better safe than sorry. She thought ruefully. And definitely better sorry than dead.
“Computer,” She ordered, “Erect a level four force-field around Security. No one without a comm badge gets in or out.” Then she turned to leave the area, gun already drawn and her arms outstretched, ready to brace and fire.
