Everyone else agreed with Aeryn regarding Mara, who she suspected hadn't been prepared for the group to swing that way when she had come up with her compromise. Not that she anticipated that the Bandaran would suddenly back down as the others returned to the table, similarly eager to hear what the COS was capable of. The CSO also knew that this wasn't the first time she had heard Mara sing, unlike Hally, although it felt like Ju's Christmas party had happened a lifetime ago, during a happier time. Not that the redhead was going to dwell on what had happened since, how her life had changed so much because she was having a good time, and she wasn't going to let her mood sour just because her personal life had been flipped upside down.
Thankfully, she had a distraction as Mara conceded that she couldn't renege on her offer before getting up on the stage and sitting down at the piano. Hally then offered to get some drinks, particularly something called Tranya, which Aeryn wasn't familiar with. Yet, she was always the type of person who didn't shy away from trying something new. " Sure, that sounds good, maybe some more swirling cosmos too?"
Aeryn wasn't overly bothered as to what they ended up with as Mara prepared to sing. What came next was to put it simply fantastic, as Mara began to sing, her voice stripped back and the lyrics resonating with the CSO. Mara had a voice on her, and in Aeryn's opinion, she shouldn't hide it as she continued to watch and listen to her friend. Once the song came to an end, Aeryn whistled and clapped before Mara re-joined them, asking who wanted to go next and how she could use a refill.
" That was fantastic, Mara, and I'm happy for someone else to go next if they want to," she began, wanting to be polite, plus it gave her the chance to think about what song she wanted to do. " Yeah, Hally was just about to go get us some, what do you fancy?"
Now that Mara was back, they could all decide together as to what drinks they should get before one of them went next.
