Aeryn appeared to warm to the idea of using explosive probes as a distraction. Lucy knew she couldn’t recall the probes that were assisting with navigation, but she could check the inventory if there were two more class-7’s that could be modified. While the Computer ran an inventory search for the probes Lucy pulled up the schematics for the class-7.
In the same way that Aeryn and Eun had modified some of the probes for sensor buoys it might be possible to change the internals around. Propulsion for the probes would be more than sufficient. As Lucy was working on modifying the probe in a simulation the next stage seemed to be swinging into motion.
The plan was still to bypass the platform formation with the IFF, then use a shuttle to deliver another Away Team to the planet’s surface. Mara was taking the lead and was taking a multi-discipline team. Lucy wasn’t certain if it was an in and out. Hally was piloting, Aeryn and a plus one were also attending. It took her a few seconds to figure out what 2IC meant. With Aeryn’s Security experience she was the perfect backup for the Chief of Security.
Aeryn didn’t take long to choose the additional Science Officer, but her choice was unexpected. Lucy was okay with a phaser, but she didn’t know if she was ready for this kind of assignment. Klingon’s didn’t cry and she was moderately better at keeping herself in check, though she didn’t know if an apology to Eun and Coleman would make up for her idiocy.
“Understood, Lieutenant Commander.”
Lucy closed her simulation and waited to follow Aeryn. She didn’t know what use she could be on a mission like this. Any stealth simulations she’d tried had been a disaster. She was capable of following orders.
