== Mid Mendoza, science officer ==
Her posting orders had arrived on a normal Saturday, while she was busy playing with her nephew and distracting him from his latest bout of illness: chicken pox. There was nothing special about that day but for Amanda it was the start of her new life.
Nothing could have prepared her for the life on a ship and the many strange things she would see. Maybe that’s why she reacted so badly when her arms suddenly turned blue. She had rushed to the nearest reflective surface only to see a totally different person staring at her: she looked like an Andorian.
Her entire body was blue and more stocky than she remembered; from her head sprouted two long antennas that moved in tandem with her emotions. Even her eyes had changed colour and shape. She was deliberately not thinking about her white, platinum hair.
What a way to make a first impression.
While Andorians were one of the most interesting species she had studied at the Academy -and she might be biased since her best friend was one of- they weren’t known to be level headed and calm.
[Qi to Midshipman Mendoza: please report to the Bridge. We need options for undoing the effects of this temporal anomaly.]
A raspy voice sounded from the Science Lab communication system.
Amanda almost jumped from the noise and was ready to punch someone before she even realised where the sound had come from. She took a deep breath and lowered her hands to the sides.
Better to go now before I break something.
