The shuttle went along her path as it led into space towards Deep Space Nine. This long journey built Brennan's anticipation ever more as the Zephyr drew closer and closer. There, he would meet his crewmates and his captain for the first time. The only thing separating him from the beginning of his career and where he was now was just a few moments to wait.
He had heard of the station before, even read about the heroics of Captain Sisko, and the Klingon and Dominion conflicts in their glory and also their destruction. He had heard stories of Odo and his security measures employed as a changling and constantly keeping Quark in line. And now he was going to find himself possibly aboard this station, and if not the station, then his new ship.
Breathe, Cadet, just breathe.
The ship dropped from impulse and quickly began its approach to the Zephyr.
"Computer, open a hailing frequency to the Zephyr and let them know we are on approach for docking."
Brennan followed the assigned path given by the operations station and proceeded into the docking port swiftly and smoothly. The docking doors closed behind him, and the ship pressurized, allowing him to disembark. There he stood on the docking room floor in all of his messy, haired, and green-eyed glory. A smile came across his face as he looked at the familiar Federation-designed ship. He stepped toward the door and proceeded to the turbolift according to the specifications he had researched ahead of time. He gave a nod and a thank you to the members occupying the deck.
"Bridge"
He stated as the doors closed and the turbolift came to life. It didn't take but a moment to arrive at his destination as he carried his PADD with his personnel file to the Captain's chair on the bridge.
"Commander Morad Ameen, I am Midshipman Michael Brennan reporting for duty as ordered, Sir!"
He awaited to be pronounced at ease by the Commander, inside he beamed with excitement, awaiting to start his duties.
